when we allow ourselves to focus on on feel on body, our breath, and rhythm we disrupt patterns, rewire new pathways in our brains. when we lead with our bodies, it gives space for our mind to be engaged with our current experiences, rather than our judgmental thoughts.
what I love is that this movement is so personal, for some it might be yoga, others free flowing, or dancing. I like to switch it up depending on how I’m feeling.
As we continue to try to live in a world that can be chaotic & challenging finding ways to relax our mind is essential.

2. How to choose the right class.
I hated my first yoga class. It was quick & chaotic and I had no idea what was going on! It can feel overwhelming to be in a class where you can’t follow along. It can be fun to try out different styles and levels but truly some of the best classes I’ve had were simple & lowkey.
3. How to practice as the seasons and my moon cycle changes. This is especially important for queer & bipoc folx because most corporate spaces cater to conforming & use seasonal events as marketing tactics without honor to the roots.
Somatic yoga is beautiful for me as a nonbinary person because the structure isn’t rigid & there is so much more space to express myself beyond the binary without feeling weird or out of place.
