When I’m travelling, I’m not really interested in ‚checking out‘ all the well-known spots or sights. I’m more interested in what I feel than where I am. I want to capture the mood of a place, not just its image. 📸
My way of photographing is inspired by the past. I’m inspired by the way our parents used to capture holidays with their first camera: They just took pictures of what they found beautiful, without thinking about whether it was the perfect framing. They just snapped whatever caught their eye because it made them feel something. 🫀
That’s exactly what I try to do. When something touches me, I just press the shutter. I tend to do this quite intuitively, without staging much. These pictures may not always be technically perfect - but they are honest. ✨
For me, it’s these kinds of pictures that tell the most compelling stories. 💫

These questions have been on my mind lately. During the final spurt of my Masters, I didn’t have much time for photography and Instagram - and that’s exactly what gave me a new perspective. 📸✨
I realised that I don’t need the likes, the followers and the pressure to post all the time. Photography is my personal balance, not an algorithm-driven must.
Browsing through old pictures made me realise how much it means to me - regardless of social media.
My conclusion? Photography will always be with me - sometimes more, sometimes less. And that freedom is priceless.
Instagram is not an obligation, metrics don’t determine the value of your work and life happens in the real world💛
