Unbound week is here and there’s no better time to relive one of the wildest rides in gravel.

Last year Rob Britton took the win at Unbound XL and smashed the course record. In this video, he takes us behind the ride and shares the story behind the suit he wore for the very first time on race day.

When you’re chasing something big, every detail matters.
Putting in the hours the last few weeks getting ready for UNBOUND XL has been a blast on this absolute weapon. While the SARANA is designed to go very fast over a long distances it’s also probably the most FUN bike I’ve ever owned. The combination of the geometry, clearance for big tires – in this case G One RX 50s and what seems to be on most of my gravel bikes these days a tapercast fork (40mm). Throw on some of the integrated aero bars and a couple bags onto the frame and you’re good to go for 560km of Kansas Flint Hills! And that paint job😮‍💨🤌
sometimes you find a little time to actually edit, and then find the time to actually post.

felt appropriate to post some California sunshine as we get a little rain in Vancouver 🌧️ photos primarily from our 7th annual Overland Pre-Otter Ride - non invitational versions of the Scotts Valley to Laguna Seca have a longer run for sure, but outside the first year and and I hammered it out, none have been as fun as the Overland versions 🤩

still in awe of the x kit designs for our Lucky #7 Easton Overland team and the helmet wraps that built for our x helmets ⛑️

Very excited to get these beauties set up.
Say hello to the M PRO Lace.

Style meets performance. 🤝
Slowly coming out of the fog that I was in after the TRAKA 560. After taking part in the 360 the last couple of years and my continued interest in long distance events I decided to try out the adventure course this year. This season has been a rough one to date as far. I’ve never been someone that’s hyper focussed on my final placing and more so on the process it takes to get there but the reality of this was that the process in the weeks and months leading up to the event was anything but smooth. Lots of lovely excuses behind the scenes but when it’s time to race the beautiful thing about this sport is that it almost always forces your hand and if you’ve done the work you’re often times rewarded. So, while I’m obviously disappointed with the results, at the end of the day the reality is the preparation leading into the race was nowhere near perfect or even adequate. I don’t for a minute regret towing the start line, the new Sarana performed absolutely flawlessly And I couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve created in that bike. AMAZING. Thankfully Victor was able to show off just how incredible this bike is. As for me, I managed to get around with a clean race mechanically and for that I’m happy. With Unbound less than one month away there’s lots of homework to do but looking ahead to four weeks not only in one place but at HOME I’m pretty stoked to get back to work…maybe a little bit of a rest first🥱. These ultra things really take it out of you. As always, stoked to check off another big adventure and getting to spend some quality time with good friends🫶🏻.

Km 500 for, just passed els Metges with the sunrise.
Long time coming. The brand new SARANA. In both party and sport mode available forks.
proud of being a part of the motivation for this bike. When riding at home in BC is the most fun and capable option I have from the fleet. Currently on its maiden race here in TRAKA. Full details to follow throughout the day.
from first time riding an ultra through Catalonia 🔥— 560.

eyes on him 👀
Another sea otter weekend in the books. Not a lot your report on the race TBH. Feels a little bit like that scene from dazed and confused. Except with watts replacing age.😵‍💫😂 all things considered I was happy to have a half decent race with the goals I have on the horizon.. Anybody who is done Sea otter knows that it’s only one part bike race and two(5?) parts tradeshow. Honestly I really enjoy the time off the racecourse- seeing all my old friends, making a few new ones as well as getting the opportunity to spend some time with all of my partners (in person)who make what I do possible. Nice to be back home and having a little taste of summer before the first big goal of the year arrives next week in Spain. For now it’s time for one last big push to put the final touches on my Traka plan. Almost time to go to battle. 😏

Thanks 📸
My 6th?! and probably my 10th(?) finishing on the iconic Laguna seca race track. Over the years it’s been many different things, I remember as a kid watching the best mountain bikers in the world kickoff their season here then, my first year racing professional on Bissell on the road through Fort, a few Tour of. California’s, for a couple years I pretended to be a mountain biker in the LTGP and most recently doing what I’m certainly most comfortable and racing the gravel event. This year is by far the most stacked field I’ve ever seen and honestly you would be hard pressed to find a stronger field anywhere else this season.

should make for a bit of a barn burner out there and we’ll see what the legs have in the them. You can probably guess what the big 🎯is for me this season so right now it’s all about building in the right direction. The nice thing about this is after the dust settles from the race we still have three days to visit with old friends, passed in current sponsors and taken all the nice things that this part of California has to offer. But for now, time to put in the earbuds and steal the mind. Just about game time.
