-You have to consider your hormones.
Men and women will both experience hormone fluctuations that will affect energy, sleep, mood, appetite, sleep and motivation. Don’t be too hard on yourself.
- You can’t process alcohol as well as in your 20’s/30’s.
I’m sorry but you will have to drink less alcohol if you want to train to your potential.
- you need more time to recover from training.
Recovery slows down even after 30 years old so take recovery days seriously.
- Your skin will start to sag.
Gravity will get you eventually. Muscle mass and maintaining collagen will help.
- You have to fight to gain and maintain every lb of muscle.
Muscle mass declines, don’t worry about becoming too muscular by mistake- keep weight training as hard as you can whilst maintaining form.

1- Exercise outside. Even though I own gyms, I will still tell you to do this.
2- Challenge yourself mentally. Do things you’re not good at. Failure, embarrassment, frustration are all your friend for personal growth.
3- Enjoy food. Get as much of your foods from wholefoods, cooked at home as possible but don’t let fitness ruin life experiences.
4- Lift weights. Get strong, build muscle to future proof yourself.
5- Make exercise social. Sport instead of pub. Walk instead of telly. Yoga class instead of scrolling.

I don’t count calories.
I eat chocolate every single day.
I didn’t even miss a meal when my appendix burst 😂
Food is one of life’s greatest pleasures.
Eat for optimal health. Eat for performance. Eat for recovery. Eat for pleasure. Nourish yourself.
Keeping things light. I’m totally in control. Paddling like nuts under the surface. BUT.. I find fun every day.

Welcome to Club Roar!
My on line training platform which finally allows me to work with you wherever you are in the world.
I understand that Roar Gyms are only accessible to a few. I wish I could open amazing gyms everywhere but I’m so proud of the product, the team, and the service so I’ve never wanted to sell out or dilute who we are and what we deliver.
Through all the fitness messaging fads and trends we’ve stuck to our guns and continued to deliver what our clients ask for and that is still results.
So many of you have watched and supported this journey and I think by now you know me and what I stand for and care about.
This new online offering has been months in the making and I am taking on new clients now!
If you want to work with me- DM me ’RESULTS’ and we can discuss 😊
I’m going to tell you a story. It’s a long story so I’m going to bullet point it in order of each pic/video as you swipe. 11 years later I still find watching this difficult.
1) This is me and my team mate at the 2010 Olympic Games. We are warming up for our race. Happy, relaxed and confident.
2) skating the fastest lap times of my life. The buzz and excitement in my stomach with the crowd starting to fill up the stadium was something I can never really explain. My whole life had been building to this day and I’m ready.
3) Me and another skater crashing on the start of my race...watch it a couple of times (I’m lane 3 next to the girl in black)- you decide who you think is at fault for us falling? I must be clear that I do not blame the athlete for what happened. Everyone is just trying to win- the ref is responsible for the decision.
4) My coach protesting to the ref.
5) My coach still protesting to the ref. Listen to his explanation. I felt sick, I know it’s over. Then I hear the official announcement so I get off the ice. Devastation washing over me, it’s surreal and I can’t remember anything of the following 10-15 mins.
6) Me definitely NOT wanting to talk about it in the press box after 🤣
I was told later that this ref served a 2 year ban after this competition. I retired after this and struggled for a long time. Nobody really knew. Even 4 years later at the next Olympics I couldn’t bare to watch my friends compete in the sport that I loved.
The day I started to feel better was the day I realised that the job I do now actually helps other people rather than only thinking about myself. There’s nothing more rewarding than making someone else feel good or giving them real confidence. I love my life, my job, my team and if the outcome of this race had been different then maybe my path wouldn’t have been this one. So, if I could go back in time- I would do the exact same thing ☮️ 🤗 🙏🏻
