Dr. Flavia S. Fleischer has been named the next dean of NTID, becoming the first deaf woman to serve in the role.
A nationally recognized leader in Deaf education, Fleischer brings decades of experience in teaching, leadership, research, and advocacy. Most recently, she served as chair of the Deaf Studies Department at California State University, Northridge.
“I am thrilled to join RIT/NTID and serve a community I have long admired for its innovation, creativity, and academic rigor,” said Fleischer.
She will begin her role on August 1.
