As they grow older, these stripes often fade and become much less visible. That suggests the pattern is mainly useful during the younger stages of life, when the sharks are smaller and more vulnerable.
Another interesting thing is their countershading. The top of the shark is darker, while the underside is light or almost white. From above, the dark back blends in with the deeper water. From below, the bright belly matches the light coming from the surface. It is a simple but very effective form of camouflage.
On top of that, tiger sharks have skin covered in tiny tooth like structures called dermal denticles. They reduce drag in the water, help the shark swim more efficiently, and also protect the skin from damage and parasites.
Put together, the stripes, the countershading, and the special skin make tiger sharks very well adapted to their environment.
Honestly, I find the pattern on them really interesting. I could just keep looking at it for a long time!

In Tanjung Puting National Park, one of Indonesia’s most important rainforests, we spent five days exploring the jungle by boat and searching for orangutans, monkeys, crocodiles, and other wildlife hidden deep in the forest. And this is the result of what we experienced! 😮💨
Five days still felt too short, and next time I will go deeper into the jungle and stay much longer! 🤟🏼

📍NEW ZEALAND
In New Zealand, we explored the South Island in a campervan. We started in Christchurch, drove up north once, and then followed the entire west coast all the way down to Milford Sound. The shoulder season was perfect for avoiding the crowds and enjoying the landscapes in peace!
📍NORWAY
Norway in late summer was absolutely incredible. We had around seven weeks to travel all the way through the country up to Tromsø. The further north we drove, the more autumn colors appeared. It was an unforgettable experience!
📍WESTERN AUSTRALIA
In Australia, we road-tripped with our 4x4 along the west coast, starting from Perth and driving via Esperance all the way up to Ningaloo Reef. Don’t underestimate the distances, but once you’re there, you’ll absolutely love it!
📍PATAGONIA
There’s not much to say about Patagonia except that you need a camper from Patagonia Drivers! The landscapes are absolutely unique, and you’ll spot plenty of wildlife directly from the road! Definitely do it!
📍ICELAND
In Iceland, we drove all the way around the island with a rooftop tent. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see everything because of the limited time, but what we did experience completely amazed us. We will definitely come back one day!

The approach to Nuku Hiva was unreal. Because of the wind it took us four tries before we finally managed to land!
Together with my brother, I spent almost two weeks exploring the Marquesas, one of the most remote island groups I have ever visited. There is honestly not much more to say about this place, you just have to see it for yourself and be amazed! 😮💨

The goal of the project was to shoot Heimplanet’s new tent collection for its launch, creating content that could be used across all marketing channels as well as on their website.
For each of the four tents, we produced a setup video along with a series of highlight images! ⚡️
For the two 4 season tents, we spent 2 days in the Alps in mid March. Within a single day, we shot both the video and photo content during day, blue hour and at night. Without our experience, it simply would not have been possible to capture all of the content within such a short timeframe, since every step had to happen directly one after another!
For the 3 season tents, the idea was to create a contrast with a warmer and more summery environment. Since that was impossible to achieve during winter at home, we flew to Madeira for five days.
Once we arrived, it became immediately clear that we had to make use of every possible moment because of the constantly changing weather conditions. On the first day, we focused on location scouting and explored different spots.
On the second day, we started shooting right after sunrise, and continued with the same routine over the following two days. The rapidly changing conditions between sunshine and heavy fog definitely did not make things easy, especially since we also had to deal with a herd of sheep grazing at the same location throughout the day.
In the end, through careful planning and years of experience, we were able to deliver a strong and solid project!
