Mum had been living with Parkinson’s for many years and, more recently, breast cancer. As we all know, life just isn’t fair. My dad cared for her with endless love and dedication.

These past years have been especially hard for us all, but mum’s strength throughout has been truly inspirational to me. Faced with so much adversity, Mum never wavered.

Our hearts are heavy & the tears won’t seem to stop, but we are all so grateful she was able to leave this world peacefully, with Dad & I by her side.

Mum lived her dreams from sun drenched holidays to Spain & Ibiza in the late 1960s & 1970s to sailing around the Caribbean with my Dad and watching me play rugby in Australia. The life and soul of the party, Mum always there for me & a loving Grandma to Mabel even when Parkinson’s disease made her final years so very very hard.

The original Clapham site is now under demolition/rebuild to a new commercial site, but what a place it was back in the day before any other gym like it in London. Reach continues at our Earlsfield HQ. We still do what we have always done, trends come and trends go but we keep getting people to move like athletes, get damn strong for life & incredibly fit for whatever sport or challenge our members want to attack 💚🧡

We’ve been a little slow to try out an Ikos hotel, mainly preferring private Villas for our small human based chaos holidays thus far, but this was worth the hype. The food was awesome; the drinks flowed when needed; the gyms on site were good for general population (could do with some new toys if I were consulted 😉) and the spa/sauna spaces were great. Pool areas awesome & a great beach right on your doorstep. Most importantly for us, was the evening mini Disco. Wow! Mabel blaaaaaaaady loved it. And it was a pure joy to watch her have a ball with the minions (literally) every night. Thus I cried at most of these shows 🤣

Thinking of booking an Ikos hotel holiday? I would say we, with Mabel just heading towards 4, are in the sweet spot for it. Luxury all inclusive, with lots to do for Mabel without having to pay the school holiday prices. The Kids Club team were so lovely & Mabel was excited to spend a couple of hours in da club each day which is the key to parents actually having a rest. This was a huge plus for us, but obviously not guaranteed that your little one will be up for it. But I’d say at an Ikos, where the team are great, you might have a better chance of buy in than at other hotels ➡️ So if you have a pre school toddler & are thinking of doing an Ikos, I would say do it. The biggest plus? The customer service 👏 We had a niche issue with our room. If you had been in there as just adults, the problem wouldn’t have been a problem. But the Ikos team didn’t mess around & we were moved to a much higher specification room & space above what we had paid for by some distance, no questions asked. They want guests to be happy. We were. And will go again soon 👍
