What a year. Sometimes I have to pinch myself that this is my life but then I remember how hard I worked to get here. Looking back on videos and pictures from this year I can begin to see some real turning points in my confidence as an artist. Painting alongside a master certainly makes you better, but it can also cause you to question yourself and your skill level in ways you hadn’t before. In some ways that’s a good thing. You recognize areas of improvement and reach for the level of the master painting beside you. In other ways it can become an obstacle to overcome - learning how to stop second-guessing the brushstrokes you make and your own creativity. I’m pleased to say that in 2025 I did both. I grew alongside Rich and learned to trust my own instincts again. And in the meantime painted 37 murals together and one on my own that I am very proud of. I also painted a sentimental gift for a friend and a project that challenged me in every way (more on that later), rounding out the year with 40 pieces of art that I couldn’t be more proud of.
It’s amazing what can happen outside of your comfort zone. When you take a leap of faith and say yes. Taking one small chance can ignite a world of change. So if you have made it this far, if I can encourage you to take one thing into 2026 it is to say yes more often. Don’t say no out of habit. But be discerning with your yesses. Say yes more often to the things that matter. You never know where a yes may lead you.
