a little backstory on the track we’re probably most proud of: when we finished the instrumental, we knew right away that we wanted some laidback and deep rap vocal from the UK on it.
a few weeks later we came across the young london based artist on instagram - through his work with the homie and some dope little clips of him rapping over raw beats from his sampler. we knew he had exactly the vibe we were looking for, so we hit him up.
the good news: he was totally up for a collabo. the only problem: he was somewhere deep in the peruvian jungle, miles away from any mic or studio, and wouldn’t be back until after our album deadline. we were close to calling it a day but at the same time really, really wanted to make this work. so we asked him to just record the vocals on his phone and send them over.
a few days later, we had those sick bars from him in our inbox, perfectly catching the track’s vibe. even the raw recording turned out to be a good fit, and with some help from we managed to glue it together perfectly with the instrumental.
we couldn’t be happier with the final outcome and are super proud to have him on board for this one.
