This picture-perfect block-fronted Victorian was an absolute dream to style. Tucked into one of Fitzroy North’s leafy pockets, complete with the sweetest mint-green front door, this home had personality from the outset.

The brief? Contemporary inner-city living with a strong nod to its Victorian bones. We layered texture, bold silhouettes and confident colour - creating spaces that feel both curated and completely liveable.

It just feels good the moment you walk through the door.

When our client came to us with this project, we started with one key question: who’s going to buy this home? The answer was clear—someone younger, likely a first-home buyer. With that in mind, we set out to create a turnkey home with a fresh, energetic feel.

The first step? Removing the telltale signs of a ’90s renovation - glass-panelled doors (even inside), bulky chrome hardware, and black-framed mirrored wardrobes. The kitchen wasn’t far behind, weighed down by a chaotic mix of glass, old mosaic tiles, and even sticker tiles layered on top. Luckily, the benchtop and cabinetry carcass were still solid. Elsewhere, water-damaged bamboo floors needed attention, and the lighting was well overdue for an update.

From there, we focused on smart material and colour choices to inject warmth and personality. Outside, we refreshed the façade and garden, adding depth and texture. Inside, a copper-toned splashback with contrasting grout became a standout feature, energising the main living zone and tying in beautifully with the bamboo floors. Finally, with styling we leaned into colour and soft, curved forms to offset the sharp lines of the raked ceiling.

The result? A very happy first-home buyer—and a fantastic outcome for our client.

This iconic sawtooth warehouse commands attention - the kind of property that sets the expectations high. Yet upon entering, it felt stark and disconnected from the warmth and vibrancy of its facade.

We knew what was needed to bring it back to life, but the budget was tight. Significant water damage meant the bathroom had to be completely gutted, eating into the funds for the rest of the home. Working closely with the owners, who live overseas, we created a clear, strategic plan to deliver maximum impact where it counted.

First: colour. We reworked the palette inside and out, drawing on the red brick exterior to inject warmth and amplify the natural north light. Keeping the existing grey floor tiles meant the scheme had to work harder - softening, balancing, and lifting the space.

Next, lighting. An overload of downlights from a previous renovation was pared back and replaced with a more considered, layered approach.

The kitchen already had great bones, so instead of a full renovation, we delivered a smart facelift - elevating what was there without blowing the budget. New pure wool carpet added softness, while the extensive decking was refreshed to strengthen indoor-outdoor flow.

And finally - curb appeal. We colour-drenched the main street entry, taking the already bold street presence to the next level.

The result? A cohesive, warm, design-led home that finally matched its exterior - and a successful sale fore our clients.

Every property has a story, but this one is a little extra special. The Elgin is a Victorian shopfront that once operated as an art gallery, so when it came time to stage it for sale, we leaned into its rich creative heritage.

We featured works from both emerging and established Australian artists, including, alongside carefully sourced vintage art books and handcrafted objects from artisan makers. The rug—an intricate, hand-knotted piece from —anchors the space beautifully. By blending old with new and celebrating artisanal craftsmanship, we brought this unique home to life.

Our advice for anyone preparing their home for sale? Embrace what makes it different and tell a story. It’s one of the most powerful ways to create that all-important emotional connection with potential buyers.

And if you’re not sure where to start, feel free to send us a DM—we’d love to help.

We recently styled this very special home for sale. Like many inner-city period properties, it’s rich in charm and architectural detail - along with a few quirks.

Our role as stylists? To highlight its strengths - grand proportions, beautiful natural light - and to demonstrate how potential buyers can live comfortably with less ideal features, such as dated joinery.

By mixing old and new, and balancing designer pieces with more accessible finds, we created a space that feels elevated yet effortless - while staying true to its heritage.

This grand terrace had already been treated to some stylish updates by its owners, but it felt incomplete. That’s when we were called in to get it sale-ready - quickly and without over-investing.

Set in one of Fitzroy’s most sought-after pockets and with a great floor plan, we knew it needed some essential work to ensure our clients capitalised on the investments they’d made so far.

First up, we addressed the facade. A fresh coat of paint and a considered colour palette elevated the street presence, complimenting the terracotta-tiled porch, whilst hinting at the stylish interior. The neglected garden was levelled and simplified, allowing more of the elegant facade to be seen.

Inside, we colour-drenched the living rooms to add warmth and personality. A simple facelift for the kitchen: new benchtop, updated hardware and a modern rangehood. The main bathroom was neat but lacked character and felt out of sync with the rest of the house. We created a new custom vanity, updated the tapware and installed a statement mirror.

Finally, furniture staging. We played with proportion and colour, and let the architecture speak.

The result? A turn-key home that sold quickly and achieved an exceptional outcome for our clients.

When we first visited this grand home in Fitzroy North, its true beauty was almost hidden. A lush but overgrown garden and a dated colour palette obscured the stunning Hawthorn brickwork and intricate cast-iron lacework. Inside, the scale was impressive, but the previously renovated rooms felt tired, with clear signs of wear and tear. We knew this was a special property - one that would eventually be transformed into something extraordinary - so we took our signature restrained approach. Our goal was simple: to clean it up, reveal the magnificent facade, and allow the home’s natural personality to shine.

Externally, we undertook extensive garden works and introduced a new colour scheme to enhance the facade’s intricate details. Inside, there was plenty to do. Wallpaper and curtains were removed, new carpet installed, floorboards rejuvenated, and lighting updated throughout. We then styled the home to feel classic yet contemporary, using colour and a touch of drama to emphasise its inherent grandeur.

The result? An exceptional auction outcome, well and truly beyond expectations.

When preparing a property for sale we’re always thinking about how to make it memorable. One of our favourite tools? Colour.

Used thoughtfully, colour does more than just inject personality - it can cleverly soften dated or daggy features and elevate the overall feel of a home. The key is to take cues from the property itself. Lack of natural light? Lean into the moodiness with deeper, character-rich tones. Super-high ceilings? Accentuate them with colour-drenching. Lack of architectural detail? Create interest with unexpected pops of colour.

Be bold, but keep the palette considered to ensure a calm and cohesive result.

This free-standing former warehouse has lived a few lives - most recently as a colourful family home for almost 40 years. Now ready for her next chapter, our client needed a clear, practical plan to get it sale-ready.

The home had a bold 90s renovation that was really starting to show its age. A full gut job didn’t make sense, so our goal was simple: breathe new life into this one-of-a-kind property while keeping its character front and centre.

We tackled the essentials first - a roof leak, a cracked shower screen, and new vinyl flooring in the kitchen. The kitchen and bathrooms already had plenty of personality, so instead of fighting it, we softened the surrounding palette with gentler tones and lighter, refreshed timber floors. This reduced the visual contrast and instantly made the whole place feel fresher and more relaxed. Outside, we let the original lime green guide us. We kept the green base but shifted it much lighter for a cleaner, more contemporary vibe.

The result? A smart, considered refresh that honours the home’s colourful story - while getting it market-ready without blowing the budget.

When we first stepped into this grand Victorian, we knew we were in for a challenge. The charm was unmistakable - but so were the years of patchy renovations, tired interiors, and a serious lack of natural light. The real challenge: where to draw the line?

We started outside, clearing the overgrown garden to let the facade (and the natural light!) shine through. Inside, we removed the dark, dated joinery, replaced carpets, rejuvenated the floorboards, and updated the lighting. At the rear sat a sweet but very tired atrium looking out to a lush garden. A fresh coat of deep olive green transformed it instantly - softening its dated architecture and drawing the eye straight to the greenery beyond.

With our clear, strategic plan, our clients were able to get their property on the market quickly and without over-investing.
