Fun fact: the print version of this article came out today, 2/15, which also happens to be Natassja’s birthday. 🎂
2025 Project Wrap-up:
We worked on so many of your beloved pieces!

This definitely isn’t everything - we completed LOTS of projects. Maybe this year we’ll try to tally up all the dining sets Matt repairs and refinishes, because last year it was at least 2-3 per month, and with 4-8 chairs per set… that’s a lot of dining chairs! 😅

But seriously: It was an honor repairing, refinishing, and reupholstering furniture that now lives in your homes. We are so happy to be a small part of your everyday lives, and cherish knowing that these pieces are well-loved where ever they are.

THANK YOU for supporting our tiny business and trusting us to take good care of your things.

Cheers to a new year! 🥂 We hope 2026 brings good changes in the world: more empathy, more peace, more community. We can hope, right?

We had a baby! 🐣

He was born on Halloween 🎃 and is absolutely perfect.

Things got really complicated, though, and now we are in a tough spot and need to ask for help.

EDITED: GoFundMe link in bio! - we deeply appreciate anything and everything you can spare.

We’re still going to be mostly disengaged from social media for a bit as we try to settle into a routine with a newborn. We’re currently pretty sleep deprived and trying to prioritize nestling in with our baby. Thanks in advance for any well-wishes - we’ll see them when we log back in! 🥰😘
Hi friends! Can we get your help? 👋

In case you haven’t heard, we’re about to welcome a new human into our family in a very VERY short bit (like next week…!) 🐣
This small business is our family’s only source of income, and we both work 6-7 days per week most weeks to pay our bills. Obviously that won’t be possible with a tiny new human, so Natassja will be taking as much time off to feed and take care of our baby as we can afford. Unfortunately, we can’t afford for Matt to take off any time at all, so we need his side of the business (repair and refinishing) to stay busy, and hopefully offset some of the loss of income we’ll see having Natassja stay home for a bit.

➡️ Would you please share our posts, website, and/or contact info with a couple friends who might be interested in having *repair and refinishing* work done on their pieces? 🙏

(The upholstery side of the biz - what Natassja works on - is booked out with a waitlist into at least Summer 2026.)

Here’s a cute roundup of a few of the client projects we’ve finished over the last few months, to make sharing a little easier.

✍️ Another way you can help? Write us a Google review! 📝 Those make a huge difference in giving us a boost in search result pages.

Thank you so much in advance! We are so greatful for all of the connections, support, and friendships we’ve found here on Instagram in the almost 6 years we’ve been doing this. 😘

This little business started as an exploration of our creativity. Matt and I are both artists and creatives first, and we often asked each other when we were first dating, “What can we create together?” That question led to Rescue Vintage, which continues to evolve each year.

While professionally repairing and refinishing your furniture and the small curation of pieces we sell, Matt has also made time to create these incredible upcycled lamps. We wanted to share them with you, since they also represent what we do and what sparks our creativity.

Each lamp is unique and handmade, using scrap wood from local woodworkers, and upcycled teak from our friends. Matt doesn’t have any power tools (no circular saw or table saw or routers…), which folks are always surprised to hear. He hand-shaped and hand cut the pieces for each lamp. Many feature vintage baskets, and our personal favorite features half of a Japanese cricket cage, which casts mesmerizing vertical shadows on the wall when lit. He has also carefully repaired a few of the baskets with slivers of bamboo from chopsticks. The lamps all make cool shadows; they are whimsical and playful in design, and yet they feel refined and cozy on our bedside tables and shelves.

🫢 So sorry, these are not for sale! They are each valued pieces in our own home, but Matt continues to make more as he’s inspired. Keep an eye on our website… 👀

Thanks as always for being here, and letting us share our art in all its forms. 💕
Bidding is CLOSED. Congrats and so many thank you’s to our winning bidder, who helped us raise $350 for Lambert House! 🥳🎉

🌈 Happy Pride! 🏳️‍🌈

(Trying this again, as our original post got deleted…)

We’re auctioning off this chair, to support Lambert House here in Seattle - an org that empowers LGBTQIA+ and questioning youth with leadership skills and training opportunities. 🦄

🪑 We got this chair thinking it was designed by one of our fav Danish designers, Børge Mogensen. It had many of the same characteristics as one of his pieces, and so we snagged it and brought it back to our workshop. Unfortunately, it was not the chair we thought it was, and was in extremely bad shape to-boot. I honestly wanted to cut our losses and give up, but Matt recognized a creative opportunity to take something broken and improve on its design.
First, he painstakingly took apart every joint, cleaned them all, and glued it all back together. Next, he hand-shaped and sanded the arms to better resemble Mogensen’s design. He sanded the whole thing down, and then chose to lacquer it black, to give it a more refined look. Lastly, our awesome assistant David (second photo 👋🏽) tackled learning to cord the seat - we think he did a fantastic job!

While we considered selling this one as a restored piece, we felt like its unique story warranted a different approach. The three of us chatted and decided we wanted to auction it off for a charity that resonated with our personal and business ideals. We landed on Lambert House in celebration of Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ and because it’s important to us to find ways to support causes we believe in year-round.

🌈 So how does this work?

- Bidding starts at $25
- 48 hour SILENT AUCTION (via DM)
- Starts 12p tomorrow 6/24 - ends 12p on 6/26
- DM us your bid as a $$ number. We’ll announce the highest bid from the day before in our Stories ~ 11:30a each day.
- Winner will be announced EOD 6/26!
- Payment can be made via Venmo or invoice.
- All proceeds after credit card processing fees and taxes will be donated directly to The Lambert House.

Let’s raise some money to support Seattle’s LGBTQIA+ Youth!
BIG (and teeny tiny) news…

arriving late autumn 2025…
We have a new and majorly refreshed website, thanks to the very talented 🥳

Can’t say enough about how helpful and thorough Ellen was through the process. She embedded some pretty clever and awesome features, like a “before and after” slider that you’ll find on a few different pages, and also went above and beyond to give us a streamlined site that better speaks to what we do. Thank you so much, Ellen!
