2021年6月12日。コロナ禍の真っ只中に、鳥越の裏通りでレガーロパピロ東京店はオープンしました。
今だからこそ語れる話ですが、実は当初東京店は5月中オープンの予定でした。
ところが内装工事がほぼ完了し、いよいよ開店準備というタイミングで、オーナーである私がコロナに感染してしまったのです🦠
当時はまだ厳しい隔離措置が取られていた時期。幸い症状は軽かったものの、3週間近く部屋から一歩も出ることができず、毎日保健所から連絡が来る生活でした。
開店準備を進めたくても現場には行けずどうすることもできない状況の中、まだ入社したばかりで一度も出社したことのなかった店長に、電話やビデオ通話で指示をしながらなんとか商品を並べてもらい、オープン日を延期して少しずつ準備を進めていきました。
そんなドタバタの裏側を見せることなく、SNSでは平然と6/12のオープン告知をしました。笑
ハラハラのスタートを切った東京店ですが、私にとっても初めての店舗展開。東京進出はいろんな意味で正直不安でいっぱいでした。
しかし福岡に住む私に代わって、東京店の店長は毎日毎日懸命にお店を切り盛りしてくれました。
お店を支える新しい仲間も少しずつ増えていきました。
そのおかげで東京店はこの5年間で少しずつ、東京都内のお客様はもちろん、日本各地から足を運んでくださるお客様、そして地域の皆さまにも愛していただけるお店へと成長することができました。
5年間お店を支えてくれた店長と、働いてくれている東京店スタッフのみんなには感謝の気持ちしかありません。
これからも東京店が、包装紙の魅力や紙の楽しさを伝えられるアンテナショップとして、この場所で長く続いていくことを願っています。
そして何より、この5年間お店を応援してくださった皆さま、本当にありがとうございます。
