I visited Bremen in autumn and spent the weekend wandering through the historic centre, colourful streets and little corners of the city.
The historical #Schnoor Quarter (Viertel) was definitely one of my favourites. Tiny streets, old houses and plenty of (colourful) details to discover around every corner.
Then there’s the Marktplatz, the beautiful Town Hall and Roland statue, and of course the famous Bremen Town Musicians from the Brothers Grimm.
Bremen is also a really easy city to explore on foot, so you can see a lot in just one day. Perfect for a short city trip or as part of a longer Germany road trip.
And if you’re looking for somewhere to visit in Germany during autumn, Bremen is definitely worth putting on your list. 🍂

En waar dus ook heel weinig mensen naartoe gaan. Maar nu ik bijna een jaar in Ridderkerk woon, ben ik de afgelopen maanden steeds meer van het dorp en de omgeving gaan ontdekken. En eigenlijk is er nog best veel te doen.
Voor wie Ridderkerk niet kent: het ligt direct onder Rotterdam, aan de Nieuwe Maas en de Noord. Vanuit Rotterdam ben je er met de auto in ongeveer 15 minuten en ook met de bus is Ridderkerk goed bereikbaar.
Je kunt er lekker wandelen door natuurgebieden zoals De Gorzen en de Crezéepolder, langs het water lopen, een rondje door het centrum maken (en even shoppen) of richting Slikkerveer gaan voor de oude dorpskern en mooie zonsondergangen. 🌅
Ook Rijsoord hoort bij de gemeente Ridderkerk. Daar vind je onder andere de oude dorpskern, de kerk en de (enige) molen. Je hebt hier een prachtige zonsondergang richting het westen.
En in de zomer is er Ridderkerk op Wielen, waarbij je op skeelers, rolschaatsen, skates of iets anders op wielen met muziek door het dorp kunt. 🛼
En op warme dagen? Dan heb je natuurlijk de Waal. Even wandelen langs het water of, zoals ik aan het einde van deze Reel doe, er gewoon induiken. 🌊 Dit was bij de surfbocht.
Het is misschien niet de eerste plek die je opzoekt als je Nederland wilt ontdekken. Maar juist omdat ik hier ben gaan wonen, ben ik gaan zien hoeveel leuke plekken er eigenlijk gewoon om de hoek liggen.
Dus mocht je ooit in de buurt van Rotterdam zijn: geef Ridderkerk eens een kans. 📸

Hidden in the centre of #Tonnerre, a small town in #Burgundy, #France, you’ll find the Fosse Dionne. A natural spring with incredibly clear, blue-green water that disappears into an underground cave system.
For centuries, the spring has been surrounded by legends. One of them tells of a basilisk, a mythical creature said to live beneath the water. 🐍 But the real mystery is what lies underneath…
Divers have explored hundreds of metres of underwater passages, reaching almost 80 metres below the surface. The known cave system extends for around 370 metres, but the exact origin of the water and what lies beyond the explored passages remain a mystery.
Diving here is now forbidden after several fatal accidents, so today you can only look into the incredibly clear water and wonder what is hiding below.

If you’re travelling through Burgundy, definitely put Tonnerre on your list. It’s around 2.5 hours from Paris, 1.5–2 hours from Dijon and about 1.5 hours from Beaune, making it an easy stop if you’re exploring the region.
And if you’re coming from the Netherlands: it’s roughly 6–7 hours by car from Amsterdam, so it works well as part of a longer road trip through France.

Het schattige dorpje Ridderkerk. Net onder Rotterdam, tussen de stad en de Oude Maas. Niet bepaald de eerste plek waar je aan denkt als je een dagje foto’s gaat maken in Nederland.
Toch heb ik hier deze zomer verrassend veel mooie plekken en momenten gevonden, nu ik er woon. Dit was mijn eerste zomer in Ridderkerk en inmiddels staat er een leuke collectie foto’s op mijn harde schijf, dit is er een klein deel van. ☀️📸
Nu de eerste herfstkleuren alweer verschijnen en de zomer langzaam voorbij is, werd het tijd om deze zomerse collectie in een carrousel te delen.

We hadden opnieuw geluk met het weer. Een mooie laagstaande zon, wat wolken in de lucht en zelfs al de eerste herfsttinten in de bomen zorgden voor mooie omstandigheden om te fotograferen.
Tijdens de workshop gingen we anderhalf uur door de binnenstad van Leiden, op zoek naar interessante composities en momenten. Er werd gefotografeerd met zowel een compactcamera als een smartphone, want uiteindelijk gaat het vooral om wat je met je camera weet te zien en vast te leggen.

⭐ De foto met de zon als een sterretje: oefenen met een hoge diafragmawaarde en kijken wat dat doet met je beeld.
🚤 De reflectie in het water: op zoek naar een interessant onderwerp en deze keer werd dat een boot.
🌊 En de laatste: juist focussen op de golven die een voorbijvarend bootje achterliet.
