Learning how to exist in society. How to be around & interact with others. Learning how to navigate the world, not being hid from it.
I’ve been taking the kids to restaurants, coffee shops, the stores, airplanes, ect since they were newborns. Not because it’s always easy (it’s not). But because I know the long term impact.
Kids don’t magically “know how to act” in public. They learn by experience.
So yes, it can be hard. Loud. Overwhelming. & feel like a fail.. but it’s also really beautiful seeing them learn, & develop with each outing!
Yes, I deal with many melt downs quite literally in the middle of Wal-Mart & yes I often feel defeated..
But there isn’t a way to magically avoid or bypass the stage of teaching them these core life learnings.
Take those babies out! If anyone judges you, that says more about them than you! 🩷
