A studio tour that I filmed in November and forgot about, in the form of a reel I made in early May and forgot to post!

If you’d like to watch the full studio tour video, just comment and I’ll send you the link. And hit me up if you need advice on a successful content strategy … 🤪

Trying to make a serious “artist in the studio” video…
you know, thoughtful stitching, intense concentration, meaningful close-ups of thread and fabric

…but my brain is already at listening to Pixies so naturally the whole thing descended into singing, dancing and skipping around the studio instead 💃🏻

Honestly probably a more accurate representation of the chaotic creative process anyway.

I’m so excited, who else is going this year?

Got oddly shaped fabric scraps you can’t bear to throw away?
They might be the start of your next textile art piece ✂️

My tutorials are full of ways to transform leftover fabrics into layered, stitched, richly textured work — using appliqué, collage, quilting and hand embroidery techniques. No perfect measurements required.

Perfect for:
• treasured scraps
• offcuts too small for dressmaking
• old linens + worn fabrics
• slow stitching projects with meaning

Turn your fabric pile into something beautiful.

It’s not my favourite thing to make but handmade binding finishes off a quilt beautifully.

No matter how hard I try, I always sew the ends together on the wrong side. Luckily I noticed before I started attaching it to the quilt so it was a fairly quick fix.

“What if?” is one of the most useful creative questions I know.

What if I leave it unfinished?
What if I add another layer?
What if I make it bigger? Smaller? Slower? Messier?
What if the mistake becomes the focal point?

So much of my textile work begins through experimenting with fabric, thread, texture and repetition rather than having a finished idea from the start.

Creativity grows from curiosity rather than certainty.

A gentle, creative workshop exploring ideas of home through fabric, hand stitch, memory and personal storytelling. Together we’ll slow down, experiment with texture, layering and mark-making, and create meaningful textile pieces in a relaxed and supportive space. Suitable for all levels - whether you’re new to stitch or looking to reconnect with your creative practice. ✨

The next workshops take place on Friday 29th May and Sunday 31st May, with different times available to suit a range of time zones worldwide.

Held my breath the entire time squaring this quilt up 😅 Always so nerve-wracking… and yes, I definitely should have changed the blade in my rotary cutter first - whoops. Also officially convinced I need a longer quilting ruler. Next job: binding ✂️🧵

A little fly stitch experiment from last week’s Stitch Doodles class, exploring how linked rows can grow into a loose net-like pattern. Halfway through stitching I added a layer of frayed dark linen underneath and loved how the contrast completely changed the feel of the piece, making the open stitches stand out and adding more depth and texture.

I always enjoy these moments where the work starts to shift through play and repetition, following the process rather than a fixed plan and seeing where the stitching leads.

Stitch Doodles now takes place every Friday at 9am BST and is a space for slow experimentation, mark making with thread, and exploring simple stitches in different ways.

Who doesn’t love a thread pull? Incredibly satisfying to watch, like visual ASMR. Couldn’t resist timing it to the music.

I don’t why. But sometimes when it just doesn’t work, adding a red line does something magical. It’s not finished yet but in love how the red breaks the monotony of the blues.

This is a work in progress from my last Personal Landscapes workshop. The next one is in July. Just comment if you’d like me to send you more information.
