On paper, that's a hard time to photograph a family. But a family visiting from overseas wanted Jaffa Gate, so we went and found where the light softened. It came through the openings of the gate and landed gently on everyone, with no harsh shadows.

For me, it's day in the life photographs of a family just being themselves, as part of a larger portrait session. Yesterday I got to do that with 3 generations in one place, along with the formal portraits. Some of the little ones needed a bit to warm up, and every person made it into the photographs. This is what I love doing. And...the memories will last forever.

Austria was breathtaking. Mountains, lakes, villages, mist, waterfalls, architecture...
And yet there were moments when I walked around with my camera and felt completely lost.
But I don't think that feeling is necessarily a bad thing.
