The fourth piece in the collection designed in 1993 by Rena Dumas and re-edited in 2025 by RDAI under the artistic direction of Julia Capp and Denis Montel, the Robinson console table embodies the intrinsic characteristics of the collection, combining sophistication and brutality. Its structure, crafted from solid chestnut logs in their original state, draws a slender, elegant, and balanced silhouette. The tabletop, made from Volvic lava, reveals a depth of subtle nuances and complex materiality through its random texture.
The entire collection will be presented at the ‘CERCLES’ exhibition, from 15 April to 13 June 2026 at the Mouvements Modernes gallery, 11 bis rue de Beaujolais – Paris 75001.
Quatrième pièce de la collection imaginée en 1993 par Rena Dumas et rééditée en 2025 par RDAI sous la direction artistique de Julia Capp et Denis Montel, la console Robinson incarne les caractéristiques inhérentes de la collection: l’alliance de la sophistication et de la brutalité. Sa structure, façonnée à partir de rondins de châtaignier massif, presque dans leur état originel, dessine une silhouette fine, élégante et équilibrée. Le plateau en lave de volvic révèle à travers sa texture aléatoire, une profondeur de nuances sobres et une matérialité complexe.
L’ensemble de la collection sera présenté lors de l’exposition « CERCLES », du 15 avril au 13 juin 2026 à la galerie Mouvements Modernes, 11 bis rue de Beaujolais – Paris 75001.

Le design de la nouvelle boutique Hermès Umeda Hankyu à Osaka, s’inspire principalement de l’univers marin qui à la fois entoure et traverse la ville. Le dessin de la façade réinterprète les mouvements légers de la mer à travers des ondulations de pierre rosées. Les algues, élément phare de la culture culinaire japonaise, ont inspiré en grande partie la conception des intérieurs et le développement de matériaux naturels singuliers: des motifs végétaux se déclinent et évoluent délicatement sur les murs et les sols.

The architecture of the interior unfolds as a fluid vertical journey, structured by open volumes, shifting perspectives, and a progressive unfolding of spaces. Rising over four floors, the monumental stone staircase draws inspiration from the rhythm and materiality of the grand marble staircases of the Forbidden City. Each floor introduces a variation, a rhythm, and a different density.
Imaginée par RDAI, la boutique Hermès Sanlitun à Pékin s’inscrit dans un dialogue entre architecture contemporaine et références culturelles locales. La façade conçue par RDAI en collaboration avec Mamou-Mani Architects est à la fois transparente et habillée de céramique aux tons terracotta. Elle se distingue par une double peau métallique évoquant une délicate cage à oiseaux. Pendant la journée, la réfraction de la lumière du soleil sur le métal crée une impression de vibration et confère au bâtiment un aspect dynamique. La nuit, il ressemble à une lanterne qui se détache de l'obscurité.
À l’intérieur, l’architecture se déploie en un parcours vertical fluide, structuré par des volumes ouverts, des perspectives changeantes et une mise en scène progressive des espaces. S'élevant sur quatre étages, l’escalier monumental en pierre s'inspire du rythme et de la matérialité des grands escaliers en marbre de la Cité interdite. Chaque étage introduite une variation, un rythme et une densité différente.

Designed as a continuation of the collection originally designed by Rena Dumas, the Robinson table explores the codes of modular and nomadic furniture. For this 2025 re-edition, Julia Capp and Denis Montel introduced new materials, created in collaboration with Andésite workshop. The new Volvic lava tabletop is the result of a reaction between lava subjected to high temperatures, giving rise to a surface that highlights the tension between raw material and technical expertise.

Pensée dans la continuité de la collection dessinée à l’origine par Rena Dumas, la table Robinson explore les codes du mobilier modulaire et nomade. Pour cette réédition de 2025, Julia Capp et Denis Montel ont introduit de nouvelles matérialités. Réalisé en collaboration avec l’atelier Andésite, le nouveau plateau en lave de volvic est le résultat d’une réaction de la lave soumise à des hautes températures, donnant naissance à une surface qui met en exergue la tension entre matière brute et savoir-faire technique.

La nouvelle boutique Hermès Hanoi, située dans la rue très animée de Tràng Tiên, rend hommage aux savoir-faire traditionnels vietnamiens (laque et rotin) et à la nature foisonnante environnante. Cette réinterprétation peut se lire dans la création de nouveaux motifs graphiques végétaux sur les murs. Une palette de couleurs fait écho aux sensations ressenties dans cette ville et à ses atmosphères douces et chaleureuses. La composition des intérieurs s’inspire de la construction architecturale Art Déco du bâtiment d’origine, dans lequel chaque espace est rythmé par des arches.
