Art Deco — my own secret love language.

Although it doesn’t strictly follow the classic Art Deco aesthetic that swept the world in the 1920s and 1930s, blending design elements with personal favourites results in a style that feels original and reflects my individuality.

Some pieces I am loving:
.
1. Puffy Lounge Chair by Faye Toogood.
The seating design showcases two essential elements that are intentionally and playfully contrasted. The fundamental frame draws inspiration from the logical structure of classic modernist design, while the lavish quilt-like upholstery provides a warm embrace, offering comfort and reassurance.

2. Murano Glass Wall Scones 1stdibs
Pair of Murano glass wall sconces beautifully captures the essence of Art Deco design, featuring a striking fume hue and distinctive horizontal striation texture. The black opaline finials paired with elegant brass accents offer sophistication and timeless appeal. A stylish focal point and a practical source of ambient light.

3. The Winter Coffee Table
The polished stainless steel frame, paired with a clear glass top, creates a sleek and reflective surface that not only enhances the sense of light in the room but also adds architectural intrigue.

4. Cathedral Glass
Its colourless, textured surface, allows a generous amount of light to pass through while maintaining a sense of privacy. This combination ensures that the glass transmits light effectively while visibility is intentionally restricted - enough to recognise movement//silhouettes behind it, but not detailed features. As a result, cathedral glass offers an understated elegance and functional versatility to any interior.

5. Diang Buffet
This buffet is sleek and contemporary in design that instantly screams for attention. With its sculptural profile and modern curves, the unit reflects Art Deco.

Let me know what your design love language is and whether you speak Art Deco 🤍

it’s feels like forever since I’ve been online posting and checking in with so many talented and supportive accounts.
.
life… well let’s just say that life has been lifing and unfortunately that caused me to kind of step away from this space online, but never in my heart! working part time and having a go at following another passion of mine.
.
BUT
.
design is always one of those things that stir something within, always bringing comfort without second guessing anything.
.
right now in my life, I desperately needed an outlet and the only way I can really do that and pour all of my emotions in is to simply design.
.
so here it is, here I am. not sure if it’s the return to this space, but I have missed out on so much since last being a presence on this social space. feeling a little imposter syndrome once again, but all that aside somehow you find your niche and supportive group once again x
.
I decided to create “complementary” - because life doesn’t always complement (and thats a shame)

while we patiently wait for some of the finishing touches to arrive for the master suite before we get this home photographed, I can’t help but share this {and it really deserves a place on my grid}.
.
This master suite was designed to disconnect from the rest of the home, a place where my clients could escape and just let their day disappear while they retreated here.
.
That’s exactly what the master suite does, it somehow manages to capture you and transport you to another place. It’s moody, it’s dark and it’s so calming and embraces you.
.
Being able to create this space has just been an absolute dream and I was so lucky to have clients trust my process, step outside the normal and have fun to create this incredible space.
.
There are lots of people to thank who helped to bring this space together and it couldn’t have been achieved without you.
