The AirTrain privatisation deal was a spectacularly bad deal that never should’ve been made. Proposed by Labor and signed by the LNP, it was then dumped on Queenslanders for decades to come.
We’re calling on the Government to buy back the AirTrain. If AirTrain won’t sell for a fair price, the Government can and should legislate to void the contract.
Exceptionally bad deals call for exceptional measures.
Multinational gas corporation Santos seems to think so. This story didn’t get anywhere near enough mainstream coverage, but it’s a great illustration of how fossil fuel companies try to buy social license for their climate destruction.
We’re in a housing crisis, and we need a crisis level response.
Come along as we unpack the budget, talk through solutions to the housing crisis that put people over profit, and look ahead at how we can work together to call for real change in our housing system.
After our panel there will be a chance for questions, and for you to share your experiences of the housing crisis in Brisbane.
This event is free of charge, with nibbles provided and drinks and meals available to purchase. -Link in bio ✌️
So I raised it in Parliament, directly calling on the Government to ditch this terrible deal!

I hope Labor MPs who voted against a gas tax are prepared to answer the Australian people, who overwhelmingly support a tax on gas exports, about why they have once again put the gas corporations first.

The Mabo case changed the way First Nations people and their cultural connection to land are acknowledged under Australian law.
Sadly, Eddie Mabo died five months before the landmark determination was handed down by the High Court in 1992.
It is the courageous and persistent advocacy of people such as Eddie Mabo that have advanced First Nations rights in Australia.
His legacy continues to inspire us today.

I move that:
The Lord Mayor Schrinner resigns, as the person ultimately responsible for actions by Brisbane City Council in violating Aboriginals during protected ceremony, including stealing ceremonious items and tents, on Friday 29th May, 2026, at Barrambin / Victoria Park.
Further, we condemn the deeply racist actions of this Council Administration and State Government to target Aboriginal protected ceremony through intimidation, excessive force and police violence, on National Reconciliation Week (NRW) 2026.
We condemn the actions of this LNP Administration as a total abuse of power, noting that this Administration was not required to take this action, as the land was being transferred to the Olympic infrastructure body, GIICA, only one business day later.
And that the Lord Mayor, Adrian Schrinner, has brought shame and disgrace to the City of Brisbane and the Brisbane City Council, on a national and international scale, showing complete disdain for Elders, Traditional Owners and Aboriginal people, the Barrambin djar and Goori camp, and cultural living heritage.
