What began as research became a full reworking of a former convent’s main level, creating space for a growing collection of pottery, books, and art while preserving the warmth and humility of Midwestern domestic life. Thank you for the feature and for sharing our love of thoughtful contrast - old with new, quiet with bold. A home becomes its own archive when each piece is chosen with care. Beauty, yes, but also memory, intention, and something worth passing on.
We live in our little world over here at Prospect Refuge, doing the work we believe in, caring about making things and sharing them. Sometimes I forget how that might be perceived from the outside, and I’m always a little surprised (in the best way) when someone notices and believes in what we’re doing too.
Being named a “tastemaker” is strange and humbling because at the end of the day it’s not about me, it’s about people. If you know me, you’ve probably heard me say our purpose is to sell feelings, not furniture. And those feelings are built from the trust, talent, and care of so many incredible humans: the brilliant minds I get to learn from, the clients who invite us into their visions, and the Prospect Refuge team who makes the magic tangible.
