Szacuje się, że przeciętny Polak otrzymuje dawkę rzędu 2,4 mSv rocznie, a ze źródeł sztucznych (przemysł, medycyna) - ok 0,8 mSv rocznie co daje łącznie 3,2 mSv.
W ciagu 9 miesięcy dawka ta wyniesie ok 2,4 mSv dla dziecka.
Wiemy, że promieniowanie jonizujące może mieć negatywny wpływ na organizmy, więc ograniczamy ekspozycję ze źródeł sztucznych do niezbędnych przypadków.

W płaszczycie strzałkowej doskonale widać, że jest to ciało obce (gumka do włosów) znajdująca się poza ciałem pacjenta.
