Ik vul de rode curry met shiitake, wortel, bosui en paksoi voor extra smaak en groenten. De zalm leg je pas op het einde in de warme curry, zodat deze rustig gaart in de saus. 🍽 Twee avonden lang werd Leo’s omgetoverd tot een echte Portugese tasca, als onderdeel van het internationale Portugal Food Festival – Taste the Tasca, georganiseerd door de Portugese ambassade in Den Haag, Visit Portugal en AHRESP (de Portugese horeca- en restaurantvereniging).
🧑🏻🍳 Chef van restaurant Deselegante in Santarém kwam speciaal uit Portugal naar Den Haag. Samen met het keukenteam van Leo’s creëerde hij een menu geïnspireerd op de traditionele comida de tacho: rijke, hartige stoofgerechten die je echt meenemen naar de Portugese eetcultuur. Tijdens de avond vertelden H.E.-ambassadeur Clara Nunes dos Santos en van Visit Portugal meer over de Portugese gastronomie en de populaire zomerfeesten die vanaf juni overal in het land plaatsvinden.
🐙🐟Een tasca is meer dan een restaurant. Het is een ontmoetingsplek waar eten, delen en samenzijn centraal staan. We genoten van een uitgebreid menu met onder andere Peixinhos da Horta, konijn in escabeche, venusschelpen met knoflook en koriander, octopussalade, een moderne versie van Bacalhau à Brás en daarna heerlijke duck rice met gestoofde eend uit de oven. Een avond vol pure smaken, verhalen en Portugese gastvrijheid. Dit was een heerlijke kennismaking met een keuken die hier in Den Haag nog wel meer aandacht mag krijgen. Dit smaakt absoluut naar meer. 🇵🇹✨

Of wat dacht je mini pitabroodjes met kipgehaktburgers, pasteitjes met spinazie en feta of homemade hummus.

Op zoek naar een makkelijke, gezonde en eiwitrijke lunch of maaltijd? Deze frittata met broccoli en gerookte kip is een echte aanrader. Frittata is een Italiaans eiergerecht dat lijkt op een grote omelet uit de oven.
🥧Voor dit gerecht meng je eieren, kwark, broccoli en gerookte kip tot een voedzaam gerecht dat koolhydraatarm, vullend en vol smaak is. Het fijne is dat de oven het meeste werk doet. Even mengen en bakken maar.

We begonnen onze reis in de hoofdstad Tirana, waar we ook het bergdorp Kruje bezochten. Na een paar dagen reden we richting de kust met als tussenstop de stad Berat, ook wel "City of a Thousand Windows". Aan de kust bezochten we plaatsen Sarande, Ksamil en Himäre.🏝
🫒🦐 Wat ons daarnaast opviel, was dat Albanië nog steeds een betaalbare bestemming is. Buiten het hoogseizoen liggen de prijzen vaak nog lager. De Albanese keuken is zeker het ontdekken waard, maar je vindt er ook veel Griekse en Italiaanse invloeden.
