Her rugby journey began in 2011. After narrowly missing her India debut in 2012, she convinced her parents to let her play for one more year - promising to give it everything she had. They agreed, but on one condition: if she failed to make the national team, she would have to marry at 18. Fueled by determination, Priya defied every limitation and went on to represent India in Women’s Rugby 7s for a decade (2013–2023). She proudly donned the national colours at the 2022 Asian Games and, along the way, found love in her teammate and now husband, Ajay Deswal, from her club, Delhi Hurricanes. She credits rugby for giving her both an identity and the life she once dreamed of. 🇮🇳
