Honestly, give me a beach full of rock pools to explore over sunbathing or building sandcastles any day.

Today my daughter,, her son and I joined Karl’s (Mr Big F-T himself) and it was hands down one of the BEST rock pooling experiences I’ve ever had.

When I was younger I desperately wanted to be a marine biologist, and I’ve never lost that fascination with nature, the ocean and learning about the world around us. There’s just something magical about peering into a rock pool and discovering a whole tiny underwater world living its own little life.

Today we learnt all about rockpool ecosystems, beach safety, loads of brilliant Latin names for the creatures we found, and why looking after our beaches and oceans matters so much, including the importance of beach cleans.

These Rock Pool Adventures are an absolute MUST for both adults and children. It’s not just fun, it sparks curiosity, encourages respect for nature and genuinely gets children thinking differently about the world and what they might grow up to become.

Visit to book up your rockpooling adventure.

I'm delighted to collaborate with Vincent and Jeni of 🇫🇷 for an intimate evening celebrating the timeless elegance of French cuisine.

Come and join us for a unique Supper Club experience centered around one of France's most iconic dishes: Steak Tartare.

A true test of culinary craftsmanship, steak tartare is a dish built on trust. Trust in the farmer, trust in the butcher, and trust in the chef. With no heat to disguise imperfections, every ingredient must be exceptional. It's this pursuit of simplicity and excellence that has made tartare a hallmark of fine dining for over a century.

You'll begin the evening with a Kir Royal and a selection of canapés, before settling in to enjoy a thoughtfully curated three-course French-inspired menu. Expect beautiful ingredients, carefully considered details, warm hospitality, and a table shared with fellow lovers of great food and conversation.

When: Wednesday 10th & 24th June
Time: 7 PM
Where: La Cabane, Penryn.
Price: £65 per person includes a drink and canapes on arrival + 3 courses.

With just 12 seats available, this promises to be a truly special and intimate dining experience.

Do you ever feel like you’ve got a hundred and one tabs open in your head all at once? I do!!

Now that I’ve finished my first year of uni, I finally feel like I can start closing a few of those tabs and create some space in my mind to really get cracking on the incredible line-up of food and drink experiences that I’ve been tinkering away on behind the scenes for you.

The creating, planning and bringing ideas to life, I could do it in my sleep, I absolutely love that part. The bit that slows me down is sitting down to write the e-newsletters.

I’ve never shared publicly that I have ADHD, but for me this is one of those things people don’t always see; my brain loves the creating and connecting side of things, while the “now sit down and write about it” part can take a little more wrestling, which I'm finding is the case whilst studying too.

So if I’ve seemed a little quiet recently, please know there’s been a lot happening in the background. Potluck Cornwall is very much alive and kicking, I’m genuinely excited about everything that’s coming up next and I can’t wait to share it with you.

If you’ve already subscribed through my website, thank you, all event details will be heading your way shortly. Otherwise keep an eye on my posts for what’s coming next 🍽️

I’m looking forward to seeing you very soon,

Taor x

Still thinking about this one… 🍜

I went with friends ( and ) to this morning for the Big Food Barn Weekend and stumbled across
I got chatting to the lovely Matty and Lue, the faces behind the business as I had seen they are doing a BBQ with soon.

After umming and arrring about whether to go for a typical Ramen, they twisted my arm and told me to try a "Tantanmen"

It completely caught me off guard. It was a silky, creamy peanutty broth with just the right amount of heat, packed with deep flavour. Proper noodles, tender meat, topped with a perfect egg, every sip just hit the spot. Honestly, I have not had ramen quite like that before, absolutely sublime.

What Matty & Lue are doing is something special. Big flavours, no shortcuts. Love, love, love Japanese food. Makes me miss my good friend

If you see Good Luck Duck pop up anywhere in Cornwall...Go. You won't be disappointed.

After a recommendation from a fellow Potluck member, I finally made it to in Carbis Bay and wow, what a find.

This family-run trattoria has been quietly doing its thing for the past 3 years. In the kitchen is 22-year-old self-taught son Taylor cooking alongside his Dad, while his Mom and their friend Josiah run front of house.

From the moment I walked through the door
we were welcomed to sit at the “friends & family” table, and it genuinely felt like that all evening.

Plate after plate of beautiful, generous, creative Italian cooking.

We chose a few plates to start, the Grilled Artichoke Heart with Pecorino Romano & Lemon, English Asparagus with Parmigiano & Anchovy oil (which I wanted to hide somewhere and lick the plate clean it was that mourish) and Canederli in Brodo// Speck with breadcrumb Dumpling in Broth with Lardo, then for mains I chose the Spring Lamb Chops (after spotting them on Instagram and not being able to stop thinking about them), while Ruth went for the Whole Sea Bass.

And to finish… a properly boozy Tiramisu that was just heavenly and like no other. The best of the best.

The whole experience felt a bit transcendental, one of those meals where everything just hits right. Warm, welcoming and completely sublime and generous.

Ruth said in all our years eating out together she’s never heard me be so theatrical making so many yummy noises… and honestly, she was doing the same 😂

One to get firmly on your to-eat list.

I just want to give a huge shout out to the incredibly talented Chef Darryl Collins of, who in my eyes is the best Patisserie Extraordinaire ever!!

With over 30 years of experience crafting the most exquisite desserts (and a finalist Bake Off: The Professionals 2018 to his name), Darryl’s creations are not only absolutely stunning to look at, but they taste phenomenal.

I first met Darryl back in 2021 when he was at the Meudon Hotel, and to this day I haven’t forgotten the most beautiful dessert I’ve EVER experienced (photos 1 and 3 for proof). It really left a lasting impression. So you can imagine how excited I am to see him now right on my doorstep at

I’ve been following his journey ever since, and it’s amazing to see him bringing his dream to life so close to home… although maybe a little too close for my waistline 😅

I wish Darryl all the success, as he truly deserves it.

If you’re anywhere near Playing Place, do yourself a favour and go and treat yourself. You won’t regret it.

For those who are new here, a very warm welcome 👋🏻. And for the friends who have stuck around, a huge thank you for your continued support 🫶🏻

I’m Taor (pronounced Tay-or), and I’m the solo organiser behind this wonderful foodie group/club/community… whichever you’d like to call it.

What started as a simple love for bringing people together through food and supporting local businesses in their quiet seasons back in 2014 originally with Peter from Roselidden has now grown into 150+ events across Cornwall, which honestly still feels surreal to say out loud, especially as so many are still unaware of what Potluck Cornwall is.

Over the years I’ve hosted everything from cosy potluck bring-and-share gatherings in spaces seating just 10 people, to filling restaurants for Chat & Eat Nights, organising 150-person Big Lunch initiatives, wild cooking and foraging experiences, family cookery classes, and immersive dining events - all built around: no one eating alone.

I’m currently studying a Creative Events Management degree at because I love learning new ways to create meaningful experiences. Through this, I’ve set up designed to help tackle loneliness and isolation within the students. Creating spaces like this is deeply important to me because I’ve seen how food breaks down barriers. It removes social pressure and allows people from different backgrounds and cultures to gather together.

If you’ve ever attended an event, supported, collaborated, or even just followed along, thank you. You’re part of this journey.

And if you haven’t joined us yet… maybe this is the sign you needed.

My inbox is always open if you’d like to attend an event, collaborate, or simply connect.

Because food really is better when eaten together.

One of the questions I’m asked most often is: “Can I come on my own?”

The answer is a wholehearted yes 🤍

Absolutely - my events are for everyone.

There’s always a lovely mix of people: many arrive on their own, some with partners, and others in small groups, but once we’re together, it’s one shared table and one community.

If you’re booking a ticket just for yourself, please don’t worry about being left alone (I usually come solo too). I make a point of welcoming everyone and thoughtfully seating guests together, so there’s always someone to talk to and connect with.

My hope is that these gatherings spark new friendships, and that when you return, you’ll begin to recognise familiar faces and feel part of something special.

Because food tastes better when it’s shared, and nobody should have to eat alone.
