Hearing conversations between people including David Russell, teams from Pearson, The Tutors’ Association and IFIP felt incredibly important because these discussions directly impact real children, real families and the future of SEND support in education.
As a neurodiversity specialist working closely with students experiencing anxiety, EBSA, dyslexia, ADHD, ASD and confidence barriers, it meant a lot to contribute to conversations around earlier intervention, flexible pathways, specialist support and creating systems that work with children instead of against them.
What stayed with me most was the shared understanding that inclusion cannot simply exist in policy documents. It has to feel visible in classrooms, emotionally safe for students and genuinely supportive for families navigating education every day.
There is still so much change needed, but being part of these conversations left me hopeful that more voices across education are pushing for a system that sees the child first, not just the data.
