a long time ago I used to believe that success means money, accolades, achievements ✨
ah well how life humbles you. Only things that I wish in life are right here with me. And I only want that wealth to multiply 💖
What do you want to be rich in this year? 🫶💌

i hope this year gives you room.
to breathe.
to soften.
to change.
you don’t have to be strong all the time 🤍

i think the bravest thing i’ve done in life
is stop convincing myself to settle.

to want big things
without knowing how they’ll work out.
without feeling fully ready.

some days i’m scared.
most days i’m tired.

but i’m choosing to try anyway ❤️

the whole “new year, new me” thing honestly still feels a bit strange to me.
not because i don’t believe in growth, but because i’ve learned that change doesn’t magically start on january 1st.
this is just me taking a pause and asking myself
what still feels like me
and what i’ve been carrying out of habit.

i’m slowly getting better at not making myself smaller just to be easier to be around.
and at letting go of things that don’t really belong to me anymore.
whether it’s a new year, a random monday, or the middle of the year
we’re allowed to choose differently.
that’s all this is 💖

2025 is the year that started with a lot of over ambitious ambitions but over the course of months I realized I need to be more intentional with my days, and that’s what I achieved in this year - a way to love myself, do things with intention 💖

this is the year when I turned 31, and just how a new perspective appear in front of your eyes when you turn a corner of a road, least expecting to be surprised by the views, you are gifted with a life changing experience that you feel truly blessed to be able to live, things did turn a corner for me ✨

my only goal this year was to travel more, and not only did we travel almost every month of the year - Death Valley, The Grand Canyon national park, Yosemite National Park, Yellow Stone National Park, New York, Japan, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bangalore, Jim Corbett National Park, to name a few, I did feel blessed in other ways 🧿
I trained to run a 31km run but ended up only running 22km, had an amazing running season while training, moved houses, enjoyed my house and adding trinkets of joy in every corner, and finally getting the opportunity to show my family around 🎀

here is hoping the coming year brings joys unexpected and blessings that fill our lives with more wonder 🫶 I can already feel it in the air 💖💖

What a wonderful year of reading it has been! 🧁

For the last few years I have been really happy about not chasing reading goals blindingly and actually enjoy the books that I read, no matter if they are trendy or not, no matter I am hitting a certain number, no matter if all what I read is productive ✨
and you know what, a happy reader is better than a supposed “productive” reader 💖

How was the year of reading for you? 🎀📚

[bookstagram, reading wrap, reading, year wrap up]
Storytelling is one of the arts that I pride myself on now, but it has been over two years I lost my dad and I have not been able to tell any of the stories about that part of my life. Everytime I touch the surface of that wound, I retreat back into my own shell, because in my mind I don’t want to brood on that a lot, because when I was holding on to the pain harder than ever I lost myself, over and over again.
They say there is no right way to grieve and that is the single most truth I imbibed in my life, for I decided one day I will leave things as they are, I will leave things as my dad left them, and I will let this life flow. Like the sand which only escapes your hold when you try to pinch it harder, memories are the same. The more you make them a big deal, the bigger they become. We would all want to live into a fantasy that once was, as we were kids, the memories collected over time, the supposed good times, an achievement that shaped our lives, a fond traveling experience that brought a smile to our faces, all a reality once but now a forlorn memory. And no matter how hard you try to replicate that history, it will never be the exact same moment that it once was, which is both a sad realisation but also a liberating feeling.
A feeling that says this is the only time that matters to me because this is the only real thing that exists.
A feeling that lessens the burden on your shoulder of holding on to an identity.
A feeling of life being so fickle you better make the most of it while you are here.
And most of all, in the end, all of us will be in the grounds, or fly away as ashes, and nothing will really matter. Time heals everything, time moves on, and sometimes that is the only story, a never ending saga of life, death and hope in between.

“The eyes of others our prisons; their thoughts our cages.”
- Virginia Woolf

I don’t know what to say as I am overwhelmed by the fact that I went viral something that I did not dream in my wildest imaginations but you know what for once I am not going to curtail perseverance through it all, the countless days I did not want to continue doing anything but yet I did, hell I have posted consistently almost every single day for five years now, and it was long due to say the least.

Being in this space for so long, I feel I have an audience that has seen me grown and prosper, supported me through it all but at the cusp of supposed popularity there are a lot of people joining the space and my timid self is a bit anxious and apprehensive.
.
.
There have been a lot of times in my life I have felt I do not deserve the best, which has mostly come from a lack of self-worth, low confidence and this gnawing feeling that I am not enough. You see over and over again I was made to feel little, people ran over my voice and opinion and life has been really hard to me. So inevitably the human brain learns to map bad life situations with personal self and it’s worth, and that was my life for as long as I can remember.
.
.
Growing up I was a very confident kid, even with being the outcast I was very proud of reading a lot, acing my exams, being a very organised and ambitious person, speaking publicly in debates and extempore, writing well all at a young age but that got lost over the years so much so that I could not even form a single legitimate sentence infront of others.
You can tell I am not the same person anymore, I come across as someone who is very confident, not giving in to anyones’ opinions and always believing in myself. Yes that is partly true, I realised I have become this person but it was a lot of faking it till you make it, because what choice did I have?
I needed to shine again, be myself again, tap into my own potential, find my voice and feel in control and power.
[Continued in comments ⬇️]
Early last year I decided to pack my bags and move to a new country, away from my friends, family and partner. As is the case with any happy child who got what they wanted, I was excited beyond measure and looking forward to the best life that awaits me.
Behind the screens, where it all looks rosy, being in a new country, which is culturally and socially entirely different from what you know as normal, is cold and lonely to say the least. You are on your own a lot of times, you truly have to be independent in every sense of the way, and if you fall you only have yourself to trust.

Alas, you learn the hard way, but learn you do. When I came here, I was afraid of being socially awkward, I am a person who loves comfort and normalcy as opposed to adventure and excitement, which does not fit into the criteria of most of my peers, and very soon I found myself making wrong and dire decisions solely because I did not want to be lonely.
.
.
Thankfully, because of many anxious nights, betrayals, and uncomfortable situations that were hampering my mental health I decided to pull the switch and rely on just myself for everything including learning how to spend time with my own thoughts and personality.
It was hard and it was not a linear path, but months later, I run alone, I go to dinners alone, I watch theatre just sitting on my own, I travel alone, I visit museums solo, I take pictures of my own, I do everything that you are supposedly supposed to do with a company, and I do it so much brings me great joy to know that I enjoy my own company the best. And empowered by that knowledge of self and confident in loving myself more, I value my own time so much more that I am only willing to share it with people that really love me and have my best interest in mind, you know the kind of friendships you do not second guess yourself around and can fall back to those relationships whenever you actually need support.
And there is no greater learning than that.

“I care for myself. The more solitary, the more friendless, the more unsustained I am, the more I will respect myself.”
Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre🍁
