Al meant a lot to me. His and my energy matched flawlessly. We'd have lunch together every week and I'd spend the entire time picking his brain. He was a wealth of knowledge! Nearly every time we spoke he'd tell me that he only wished that we had met sooner, a sentiment that I shared deeply with him. It felt awesome to be liked by Al!
In addition to his hair career that lasted many decades he was a multiple salon owner. These experiences were a treasure as he always gave invaluable guidance to me and others in the industry.
Al and his lovely, energetic wife Joy came to work with us first at Salon Genesi before moving to POMP. Sometime in the first year at POMP Al and Joy both retired and moved south where they'd spend their retirement golfing.
Before Al retired he hosted a series of classes for the young stylists at POMP, doing his best to impart his 50 years of wisdom to our team. Al was a giver and he cared so much about this industry and others.
Al was a good, kind and honest man. Thank you, Al. For everything. I will miss you and I'll always remember our talks. Al was 84 years old.
