come see, whats new in-store at PLAZÄ ✨

a note 💌: all the challenges captains/brands go through when they’ve just set sail, just started up, opening a shop, the early days. grit, passion and being brave to suck at something new..there’s so much fun and excitement in it, but there’s also alot of terrifying and confusing parts. I get to dream new dreams too! like owning a thermal label printer 😆 It takes heart to keep going, but even more heart to start in the first place. Thank you everyone for starting this new chapter with me and for getting Dyan for the last time ❣️
2014 fashion bloggers where you at!!! Style Bubble was the reason I started blogging and finding my own voice in the fashion world. Then as a 22yo student, I still remember waiting around Berwick St and Soho just to catch a glimpse of her after a show. Her style? A riot of colour, print, and contrast, all packed into one firecracker of a woman….meeting a decade later?!?! smack me!!!

I got to show her Dyan & PLAZÄ, she left me with advice I’ll never forget “think about different perspectives, love disrupting. Be bold enough to amplify your own culture on your terms. And seek purposeful work.” It reminded me that as creatives, writers, designers, we owe it to ourselves to show our work & passions, to share the process, and challenge the traditional narrow definitions of style and beauty.

And never forget every dream starts with a dreamer.

I regret not bringing an extra piece of Dyan, she said it was beautiful but i had zerooo stocks, it’s okay it’s a good problem I tell myself, and this wasn’t planned anyway haha. Still would never have imagined a moment like thisssss ❤️
📁 PLAZÄ work in progress includes:
1. restocking dyan for the last time 21.11 + new colours
2. building a website
3. planning shoots
4. designing rtw for 2026
5. pausing & appreciating how afterglow was such a sublime editorial that perhaps I rushed life so much I now suddenly find myself appreciating its beauty all over again. in light of Dyan’s finale, here are some unposted photographs 🖤

50,000 years before the sky was introduced to the sea, before the creation of the heaven and earth, Allah swt wrote your name next to mine. happy anniversary to my everything, 🤍 still crazy about you everyday. I love you, maybe a little too much, but you deserve the world for all you’ve done, and one day I’ll figure out how to give it back to you. Thank you for carrying us through every challenge and for making our little world feel so safe and full of love. Going through life with you is not something i get scared of but i look forward to each day, while building our syurga, i hope tomorrow brings more laughter, adventures, and chaos….

aaand just like that, we’re welcoming our little miracle very soon 🐣✨ Alhamdulillah 💛
with every break down there is room to build up. All of us are seeking to be better in some shape, form or fashion. i wish everyone continued grit, self-love & courage on your pages of rebuilding yourselves…to become so grounded in the journey of life that even in moments of doubt, you rise, trust your path, and never quit.

Taking you behind-the-scenes of our Afterglow photoshoot.

Creative work looks effortless only because many hands make the effort invisible. There were reshots, fittings-pinnings-glueing, floral artistry, last-minute intuitive changes, hundred of micro-decisions you’ll never see: which brooch works, which lace reads on camera, which angle respects the garment, which lighting mimics the sunlight. This is why I love it. This is why it’s hard. This is why it matters. Because creative work extends beyond (whats already 300 hours of sewing) product - it’s a collaboration of hands, eyes, and hearts.

Unforgettable. Grateful. Imperfect. A blessing. And only the beginning.

Community & The Firsts.

Thank you for the conversations, for showing up, the smiles, the love, the doubts, the honesty too. We were at and in March, our first popup ever, and it was an honour to be apart of the local community. Organisers, technicians, creatives, artists, entrepreneurs - they all remind us how much heart goes into building something bigger than ourselves.

Each one of you made an effort to stop by. Some came with friends, some alone, some shy, you showed up as yourselves: quiet, loud, funny, curious, cautious. We’re grateful for all of it, won’t forget our Firsts.
a little rusty; a lot of love. I’m deeply sorry for non-replies, unkept promises, for not being present - at shows, events, catchups, inboxes. There’s really no excuse and I won’t pretend otherwise.

Learnt to pause and acknowledge a new life that doesn’t include the ‘pillars’ that made it meaningful or comfortable at one point, but this is when life teaches you the most valuable lesson; you must have faith in the future and the better things it holds for you. (Trust in Allah’s plan a whole lot too!). I’m not exactly who I was, but I’m still me, more guarded too. Stepped back, visited a few cities, lived - thought - soaked.

the future is unpredictable, and that’s what makes it beautiful. Missed it here — how have you been? 🤍
After setting up my first PLAZÄ booth at Riuh, at 4 AM, in the quiet of the night, I couldn’t help but reflect on the journey that led me here. Beading, sewing and draping for runway were once new and scary as hell, but now, it does come naturally, each stitch by intuition and years of refinement.

I deeply honour design work with integrity, knowing the dedication, skill, and time it demands. Every detail, every technique a reflection of years of labour and passion.

Through experimentation w different houses, through moments of doubt and being scolded at, in the hardest way, I’ve developed a deep appreciation of patternmaking, prints, textures, embellishments, fabrics, and storytelling through design. All into building my intuition like remnant fabrics i had gotten back in 2018 that i used to drape around the models w pins and clips for the campaign - they finally found its purpose..to create the visual story of Afterglow.

From being corrected and making mistakes to creating PLAZÄ, starting a brand is no easy feat, i know that from years at dUCk too, especially in finding its identity and the courage to share it with the world. It’s a journey, one step at a time. I’ll stumble, make mistakes, but I’ll have to keep going. Keep trying, keep failing, believing, and creating. We’re all human, learning as we go, and in the end, we must forgive ourselves…we’re just doing our best. Fashion is all I’ve ever known, it’s shaped me, challenged me, broken me, and all i ever want to do it for is to bring people together, transcending all languages and culture.
