Day two of U&Z’s nuptials.
This day brought a different kind of magic.
It was larger, surrounded by all their loved ones.
Already married, the energy was a little different.
More still, grounded, confident, reflective, celebratory.
I find multi day weddings to be so special.
We experience incredible highs during these big milestones, but real love lives in the ordinary and seemingly insignificant moments.
I saw U&Z sit together and observe, one eye always looking out for the other, enjoy quiet moments, all the while personally seeing everyone.
The level of hospitality and care shows just what wonderful humans they are.
From the quiet, accidental reinesaance moments,
to the loud, deeply emotive ones.

I’ve absolute no words for the wonder and depth that these two are.
And what this day meant.
During their speech, they spoke about how when we come together we’re not perfect puzzle pieces,

or finally become complete once we unite,
but rather,
how we’re all made up of glass pieces we collect from everyone we encounter in our lives.

The last 6 months have truly been some of the most life altering. Both loud and quiet experiences that have made me rethink, reprioritize, realign into what truly matters.
Two back to back trips between NZ, UK & Europe, insane hours clocked in the editing room, getting uncomfortable with a new rebrand, walking away from spaces that do not align.. growth is the most beautiful chaos.
I’m so excited for this coming summer season and next year’s Europe summer yet again, forever in awe that I get to call this a job.

Introducing this very exciting change. A dreamlike yet achingly real new direction full of soul and beauty combined.
The last year has been an absolute whirlwind of change and new discoveries. I’ve been so fortunate to have been invited into some of the most mindblowing, intimate celebrations all over the world. I still can’t wrap my mind around it all… that total strangers across the globe would open their worlds so wide and have me document once in a lifetime incredibly special and important moments in their lives.
I’ve gained some of my most cherished friendships through this, friends now who were once just clients and that right there, the fact that I received their friendship, is the biggest honour and what I count as success in this very demanding world of art and commerce.
And as we evolve and change so do our intentions and goals. I’m so excited to kick off this new season with a beautifully aligned rebrand that truly represents my love and intentional approach for celebrations. This is an ode for weddings to be real, for your artworks to be real memories, not manufactured moments for the sake of a beautiful image.
To live every moment of your day, truly, and have images that artfully transport you back 30, 40, 50 years from now, for you to keep finding detail in them through time, reminding you of love when you forget… That is the real luxury and what most don’t get.
Massive thank you to my dear for translating the whirlwind in my mind and producing a visual language that is so transcending. Both so visually beautiful but also full of heart, story, meaning and soul. More to come in this! There’s only so much of her magic I can include in this post alone!

This day with K&A was absolutely everything. The level of beauty and effortlessness lived makes me so emotional. Deep beauty with deep substance.
It reminded me of how truly special living your day unguardedly (and being guided back to this when you forget!) is truly is the master key of all keys 🗝️
I’ll never tire of harping on about the beautiful singular purpose of wedding photographs - to preserve memory. To transport. To remind us. To speak to us long after we have forgotten.
The real tragedy is when the magic is diluted if the memory we are transported back to is one of us forcing a fake laugh or being overly conscious of getting the perfect shot. And yes, it may end up being a perfectly-looking photograph but it will hold no timeless substance, and you will feel this. Soon enough the photographs that hold substance, whether they were perfect-looking or not, will be the ones you show your grandkiddies 🥹
This is perhaps the one thing no one else will see. The substance belongs only to you. Only you know how the moment sounded, felt, tasted.
Life is real and messy and wonderful. And that’s the beauty of if all.
