Calling this a new series where I just post things and colours I’m making behind the scenes for enjoyment. Had no time to really make anything for fun in the last 4-5 months, so had a real bad itch to scratch the last few weeks.

No these two experimental shades “mauve” and “cool brown” are not for sale, and they won’t be for sale in the imminent future either. Just having fun, but if you ruin my party I’ll start posting generic Pinterest pics with captions like “Dreaming of good vibes” instead 😒

First one - A bunch of you filled our inbox up the other day re: mauve blush how mauves are never really “mauve”. Wanted to try my hand at making a more true to Pantone kinda mauve. Quite cool, sits in that violet-magenta territory, and it really highlights the lilac in Wisp in comparison. It’s almost like a muted mauve that isn’t pasty.

A lot of you said how mauves need to be “cool” toned in the Pantone sense but if you want to replicate mauve vibes for deeper skin in a blush, you really can’t go *that cool*. The one here would probably work up to a medium-tan skin tone. Any deeper and you’d need to increase the depth, red, and warmth for it to look as “flattering” as possible although that’s somewhat subjective.

Second one - the cool rosy brown shade I made to take on our upcoming Japan trip. Inspired by a photo of Hwasa I saw back in October. Take Exothermic, throw a bunch of blue in there, and it’s kinda the how I got to the result.

Though it’s cooled down, it’s not a true cool tone. Just cooled down enough to be bronzer adjacent but still blushy. Idk - “autumnal woodland princess” was kinda the vibe going into it 🤣

Anyway, lemme know your thoughts 💁🏻‍♂️ have you tried a “true mauve” blush?! Are you team cool brown blush? What other shades should I try my hand at next - put your thoughts down in the comments 🥰🌿🌿🌿

This is for the folks who are lower contrast, a bit more neutral, and maybe run a little more olive.

Sometimes makeup products just sit a little too bright and vivid on the skin and while correctors like blue and green can adjust the tone of things, there’s something special about how grey can pull down the contrast and brightness as well.

Other than the bronzer here, the foundation and blush can both work really nicely on me. But a touch of our grey blush “Dust” really mellows everything out into this lower contrast neutral state that looks much more soft and seamless on my skin tone.

You can find “Dust” in our Smoked blush collection on the website. A little touch of it can neutralize, olive-fy, and tone down just about anything. I mean, within reason haha.

I did some tutorials with fixing products with Dust individually, so here’s showing how everything sits together! 🌿🌿🌿

A little new year’s blush swatch fest. Still missing 6 of our permanent shades on here 😅 had to include our orange creamsicle shade Torch (limited edition) from last year because it’s probably one of my favourites we’ve ever done.

It’s low key ridiculous that I look at this and go “wow there are still so many more shades I can make!” 😭💀

Anyway, a silly little post for today. Just wanted to smear stuff around and it ended up looking quite pretty so 🤷🏻‍♂️ Swipe to see the shades labelled.

Lemme know in the comments which shades were your 2025 staples and/or which shades will be your 2026 go to’s 😘🌿🌿🌿

Using our grey blush “Dust” to correct a cream bronzer that is way too bright and orange on me.

The cool blue-ness in the grey blush really helps “create” some olive & brown hues while tampering down the brightness. You end up with a much more neutral and grounded tone. You could use a blue corrector in some cases, but when the original bronzer is so high contrast vs my skin tone, the grey really pulls it down back to earth haha.

I probably could have used even more looking back at the footage. You could even use Dust to create a contour shade by mixing it into a bronzer.

You can do this easily with any cream or liquid bronzer. I do know some of our customers have tried layering Dust lightly underneath powders but I honestly cannot recall how that turned out 🤣

Anyway, if you’re interested, you can find “Dust” in our Smoked Collection of blush shades on the website 🥰🌿🌿🌿

Sometimes a little touch of grey is all you need to fix a foundation that is too vivid, warm, and orange.

Used our cool grey cream blush “Dust” from the Smoked Collection to tone down this foundation that works decently well for me in the summer, but is a tad warm and orange for me in the winter.

You can see in the side by side swatch how a little dot of grey really changed the tone. The end result looks a bit more muted and olive. Of course if your foundation is way off to begin with, no amount of grey will fix it haha.

I know many of our customers already use Dust to adjust blushes, but definitely try it with your foundation sometime if you’ve got one that’s a little too warm and bright! 🌿🌿🌿

This blush shade “Plume” is really the perfect muted cool toned blush for the wintery months. Think rosy taupey beige. Currently at my lightest (lighter side of light medium) and can finally wear this colour.

A soft wash of it on the cheeks gives this “wakening” effect on the face. Just makes your complexion look brighter.

Swept a touch on my eyes as well, then added a soft neutral brown powder shadow for a little definition.

Anyway - Plume is available on our website under our “Skin Spark Cream Blush” page if you wanna check it out. Lemme know in the comments if you’ve recently picked up Plume and what you think 🥰❤️🌿🌿🌿

Wrecking a blush like this is just as therapeutic as screaming into a pillow 🙂❤️ at the point in our post sale restock period where I could find a reason to be mad at a butterfly fluttering around innocently lol

Played with our blush shade here named “Wisp” this morning on the mixing palette. Another big crowd pleaser shade of ours this year. These kinda muted mauvey tones are more common in the East Asian makeup market, but in much whiter and pastier iterations.

So if you’ve ever tried one of them and thought “I look ghostly”, Wisp might be the one for you. Works great up to light medium skin tones.

One of our very popular shades amongst the cool and olive undertone crews. Pipe up in the comments if you’re a Team Wisp member 🥰🪴🪴🪴

I talked about this idea in our stories a few times over the last few weeks. Yesterday I carved out some time to quickly push out a first iteration of what I was thinking of.

The concept - a silky, powdery, self setting matte “powder” putty blush tone that can be used by itself but also works beautifully on top of powders and other creams.

Like your powder blush looks too chalky and too bright? Don’t worry - tap this powder-cream on top and it’ll fix that right up.

Don’t like to look powdery but don’t wanna look oily? Tap this on your cheeks instead! For the record, our cream blush is already fabulous and sets down beautifully, but this is like next level dry down.

Does it make sense?! Is it as cool to you as it is to me?! I feel like this is my newest rabbit hole that I’ll be going down in our spare time. Lemme know if you want this to become a series or something if I keep working on the product 😇🌿🌿🌿

Imagine how silly I must feel when this blush shade I made for fun in 20 minutes turned into a home run for us.

I reject any and all accolades our customers throw at us all the time about our “sense” for colour because I swear it’s just dumb luck sometimes 🤣❤️

Our muted taupey beige blush “Plume” started with the idea of making a lilac beige in a tone that could almost be a moody shade of wall paint 🙃

I know it’s out of stock right now, but working hard to restock it asap. We sold a bajillion yesterday, and I’m excited to see many of you try it for the first time!

Let us know in the comments if Plume has also been a 2025 favourite of yours too 🫡🌿🌿🌿

Tbh we considered skipping any and all sales this holiday season. As many of you noticed, we skipped our big Nov 8th sale we’ve done every year.

It’s been an exhausting year to say the least and we don’t have much gas in the tank. We actually hit our yearly sales goal back in SEPTEMBER so it’s been a grind, amidst managing tariffs and all too.

But despite being tired and overworked, I know how many of our regular customers make our sales “an event” so we are condensing everything into one 24h long hurrah this year because we couldn’t do what we do without all of you, and we want to show how much we appreciate you!

Please read through all the slides, and PLEASE let us know in the comments what you plan to pick up. You’ve got 6 days to help direct what products to make extra stock of, so we can maximize how many of you can nab the carts you want

Build your carts and we’ll see you for the madness next week 🫡🌿🌿🌿
