I love that my job is flexible enough that I can take on work in the middle of the week, bring my kids if needed, and I can take photos of virtually anything.

I love taking photos of homes because they don’t make me work as hard as a hangry 3 year old does šŸ˜† but also it’s just a different challenge and one I like to take on! This specific job was for a rental for a friend who had just put iPhone photos on her listing. She felt that if she got really high quality photos she might have an easier time renting it out (anyone looking to rent in #BonneyLake?! It’s so cute!).

If you’re in need of photos of your rental, Airbnb, vacation home, remodel, etc, I’m here for you! I’m always down to trade photos for free stays at airbnbs, especially if it’s in a fun vacation spot (Italy?? Spain?? Paris?? Napa??).

Buddy was such a good helper and so sweet (minus the fact that there may in fact be some cheese danish crumbs inside the house now 🫣)
A year ago, we decided we didn’t want to wait.

So we gave our families 5 days notice, went shopping for outfits, reserved a space at our favorite restaurant, and eloped on our rooftop in Seattle.

It was perfect and magical and everything we wanted. Happy 1st anniversary husband, I love you ā¤ļø
Photos that feel like a movie šŸ˜ also, I loved when I had them do this first pose and she said ā€œso we have #booktok at homeā€ and we all died laughing.

You can’t tell me you can’t feel these photos. It was a windy December day, the sun had just dipped below the hill making it even colder, and we were playing around #GasWorksPark like we were main characters in a RomCom (we? I mean ā€œtheyā€ lol).

The key to variety in a gallery is MOVE. YOUR. FEET. You and the clients! I shot all these on a 35mm lens and all within like 15 min. I always know when I got the shot though and I move my feet. Yes I overshoot, but it’s not the same pose 14 times, it’s the same pose 14 different ways and IM SORRY IM NOT SORRY.

Whether I’m taking photos of a family or a couple, I always encourage play. I have you look at the camera at least a few times during the session but I mostly just want to romanticize your life for you by capturing the moment and not just the basic ā€œlook at the cameraā€ photo.

As for me and my camera, we’ll be capturing allllll the details ✨

You don’t realize when you book your session that I’ll be paying attention to the little things, too. Not just for the newborn, but for their siblings too. The way they have a 7 min time frame to take the one smiling family photo, the way they are beholden to a snack bribe, the way they want to run away, but most of all, the adorable way they interact with this new little creature that just took their place as the baby.

Every session holds a special place in my heart. I will never get over that I get to be the one to freeze these moments in time for people. It’s a job I don’t take lightly and I will always hold in a high regard.

Thank you for letting me into your lives, whether it’s in your home for a newborn session, on your boat for a family session, in your office for a branding session, or at an arcade for a couples session, I’m HERE for it!

#NewbornSession #NewbornPhotography #FamilyPhotos
I cannot tell you how fun these Seattle engagement photos are. A photoshoot in an arcade? Don’t have to ask me twice. My favorite type of couple session is one where we are doing stuff. Running around the city, doing the things YOU love to do together, and me basically being a pricey third wheel šŸ˜†

Your engagement session should feel like you. Your photographer should help bring that out in you. This combo makes for the best photos!

I asked them what they wanted and originally we had wanted to do pop-a-shot somewhere but when we decided our outdoor location would be at #GasWorksPark I knew in Fremont was the perfect location.

Pro-tip: call ahead or when you get there, ask for permission before taking photos inside establishments. It’s a better experience for you and your clients and the staff appreciates it. Make sure not to cause a scene, don’t get strangers in your photos, and don’t get in the way. Get the shot and move on! Most of these were in a corner away from other patrons or in an empty room.

Where should I do photos next?!

A live look at me figuring out how to use my new strobe.

In 2026 I’ve decided I’m going to add a new skill to my tool box: studio lighting. I typically use natural light, a flash or a continuous light as needed, and I’ve used/rented a strobe before, but I don’t have one of my own and for Black Friday I treated myself to a new strobe and modifier (honestly I’m so new I don’t even know if I’m calling them the right names lol). Check back in with me after a year because I’m already having fun with it in my living room within 15 min of setting it up.

Cover photo by the incredible during headshot event this past September. She is one of the reasons I want to learn more studio style lighting, to increase my skillset and add to my branding/headshot sessions!
Let’s give it up for the older kids at photoshoots! I have a LOT of little kids in front of my camera but i love me a pre-teen/tween/teen. They start off the session acting like they don’t want to be there and they end the session with silly photos and smiles.

I have done so many holiday photos this November, 31 families to be exact, and each session has me smiling while editing. Whether it’s because I am taken back to a funny moment during the session or because the silliest photos actually turn out to be the cutest photos a majority of time šŸ˜†

I’m almost done with my sessions, I have 6 galleries left to wrap and one more wedding! I have a handful of sessions on the calendar and then I’m taking a break to enjoy the holidays with my family and not just my laptop.

Funny story, Willa asked me today ā€œmom I have a zebra stuffed animal because I love them, should we get you a computer stuffed animal because you love your computerā€ šŸ‘€šŸ«£šŸ™ƒ
Here we are again, just a girl wrapped in a blanket with her computer, wondering why she has to be so fun and her clients have to crush their sessions and they have 1,248 cute candid photos and now I’m wondering if the 4 variations of the same pose was a good idea and that I’m simultaneously proud that I’m really quick at getting variety but also have too many ideas and a hype girl personality.

*do not suggest AI editors or cullers lol*
āš”ļøMini Session vs Full Sessionāš”ļøand what session is right for you?

I have a lot of love for both session types. I’m happy to connect directly to help you figure out which session type is best for your photoshoot, but in the meantime here is a quick breakdown!

Minis: I love a short, quick, chaotic session. We get a ton of great photo options and you’re in and out as fast as possible. You’re left wondering ā€œdid we even get any good photosā€ only to get your final gallery back wondering what kind of drugs I’m on to get all the variety I could in 15 min. Not only did you get great photos, but your kid who seemed to be melting down actually smiled a couple of times. They’re more affordable, perfect for when you only need ā€œa couple great photosā€ and being on time doesn’t stress you out. Theyre a little overstimulating but they’re budget friendly, great for annual photoshoots and for people who hate having their photo taken. You don’t have much say on location, dates, time, or variety, but that’s ok because it may not matter to you!

Fulls: these are for the people who want an experience. They want family photos to be enjoyable, to have both posed photos and fun candid moments, and to get a gallery full of variety. They have a special location or session idea in mind that feels authentic to them. They enjoy a slower more intentional pace and don’t mind a longer session with more activity in mind. Once you experience a session like this, you may never want to do photos any other way.

Tip: don’t assume your young kids can’t handle a longer photoshoot. Sometimes kids take longer to warmup, thrive in a calm and intentional session setting, and enjoy the playfulness that a full session provides. Shorter session can feel stressful for parents of young kids and they feed off your energy. If you’re calm and relaxed, they will be too! If mini sessions aren’t your jam, I offer budget friendly full session options as well as payment plans! Photos are a luxury but I also believe everyone deserves photos.

If I am not the photographer for you, I have a community of photographer friends I HIGHLY recommend that I can put you in touch with šŸ«¶šŸ¼
You guys, it’s World Photography Day and I had to share my photography story.

I’ve been a photographer for almost 15 years. My dad let me borrow his ā€œfancy cameraā€ for a little bit and after I kept it for a year he got me one for Christmas. People kept asking me to take their photos so in Feb of 2012 I got my business license, and I’ve been learning as much as I can ever since!

In Jan 2020 when my twins were 4 months old, I went full time and have been building my business year after year. We all know how 2020 went, and I wish I had gone full time BEFORE having kids, but I’m so thankful I finally took the leap.

I have dubbed myself a Lifestyle photographer who prefers to capture photos in a more candid fashion. I just like to see a moment and freeze it (I have 100,000 phones on my 1TB iPhone and 6TB iCloud ā˜ ļøā˜ ļøā˜ ļø, lots of YOU are in those photos lol). I’ll never forget when I was able to replace my previous ā€œreal jobsā€ income and I continue to grow. I’m not where I want to be yet but I’m excited for the journey.

These last 5 years of building a business while being a stay at home mom with limited childcare has been grueling. It’s broken me, rebuilt me, motivated me, and molded me. The girls start kindergarten next month and Buddy starts kindergarten next year and it’ll be a new season for sure.

The flexibility of being my own boss can be hard. I feel like I half ass a lot of things that should be full assed (like parenting, where are my kids right now? Being too damn quiet somewhere that’s for sure).

All that to say, I’m thankful for this job. I’m thankful to provide for my family with this creative outlet. It’s so much harder than any one even knows but so much more rewarding as well. I look forward to the next 15 years behind the lens and grateful for how many of you find yourselves in front of it year after year and have stuck by me since my early days editing in PicMonkey and burning the images onto CDs ā˜ ļø
