I knew I wanted to put myself out there more, so I decided to go to a tabling event on campus, and that is where I found Phi Mu. From the moment I spoke to the girls at the table, something immediately felt different. They were so genuine, welcoming, and full of energy that I remember leaving and literally saying, ‘If I don’t go Phi Mu, I’m going to explode.’ As dramatic as that sounds, I knew in my heart that Phi Mu was exactly where I was meant to be.
Joining Phi Mu has truly been one of the best decisions I have ever made. This chapter gave me the friendships and support system I didn’t even realize I was missing. It brought me my incredible big and best friend, Vicky, my amazing littles Ale and Melanie, and sisters like Mena, Madelina, Janelle, Anna, and so many others who have completely changed my college experience for the better. These women have become my family, my biggest supporters, and the people who make FIU feel like home.
Phi Mu has helped me grow so much both personally and professionally. It has pushed me out of my comfort zone, helped me become more confident, and shown me the importance of surrounding yourself with women who genuinely care for you and want to see you succeed.
