After a very chaotic couple of days, we wanted to share a proper update…
Amazingly, we’ve come through without any direct storm damage to our bakeries or shops…roofs intact and buildings standing strong, which we’re incredibly grateful for.
However, the impact hasn’t been without its challenges.
We’ve experienced a number of completely unprecedented issues, including widespread power outages and water supply problems—both absolutely vital for operating our bakeries and shops.
On top of that, the sheer number of trees brought down by the storm caused major road blockages, meaning vans (and some of our team) simply couldn’t reach our shops in certain locations.
Behind the scenes, it’s been all hands on deck.
Portable freezer units have been hired (thank you ) stock has been moved and secured, and our team has been nothing short of brilliant, adapting quickly and handling today’s adjustments with real professionalism.
We can’t thank them enough!
At this point, we’re very much in the hands of the utility companies, and we’re hopeful that progress can be made over the weekend so we can be fully back up and running from Monday.
As it stands, we’re not able to open our Foundry shop in Hayle or our shop in Praze due to power outages, and we won’t be able to open our shop in Helston until the water supply is restored.
Our shops at East Quay in Hayle, Marazion, Porthleven, and Camborne will be open as usual this weekend—unless we’re faced with yet more unprecedented changes, in which case, we’ll keep you posted.
