Throughout his career, Tony has performed alongside legendary artists including EPMD, LL Cool J, Fugees, CeCe Peniston, Teddy Riley, and MC Serch, among others.
In addition to dance, Tony has dedicated much of his life to the study of #martialarts, training in disciplines such as Kali, Arnis Escrima, and Pencak Silat. By blending martial arts principles with #hiphop and house #dance, Tony developed a dynamic and highly original movement style.
Since 1997, Tony has taught workshops, judged street dance competitions, and performed internationally across the United States, Canada, Japan, Asia, and Europe. His work has also appeared in films and music videos including New Jack City, 25th Hour, “Jingling Baby,” “Stayin Alive,” “Here It Comes,” “Ice Cream Dream,” “Court Is Now in Session,” and “Pump Up the Jam.” Today, Tony continues to share his deep knowledge of hip hop and house dance culture through performances, workshops, and dance events around the world.

GALLIM Methods is a movement technique training which practices Andrea Miller’s movement philosophy and creative methodology through a guided conversation between the body’s network of systems and the imagination. Through a combination of guided #improvisation and focused exercises, the class brings nuanced attention to regions of the body, its availability for movement, range, coordination, texture, and #creativeexpression in relationship to the rest of the body and its experience within space, time, #music, and art.

In each class, participants will work on “forward center,” shared balance, walking technique and the use of disassociation to produce movements from leading to embellishments. Focusing on improvisational lead and follow and musicality we will explore dynamics, styles and steps from basics to giros (turns), sacadas, voleos and ganchos. Find out why artists such as Pina Bausch, Paul Taylor and Julio Bocca have been inspired by Tango and how you can use tango music and dance to enrich your own creative practice.
Workshops are taught by award-winning multidisciplinary artists Leonardo & Olga Suarez-Paz, co-directors of Nuevo Tango Arts, PIAZZOLLA100 Festival and the Nuevo Tango Ballet. Leonardo & Olga continue their 4 generations of tango legacy through performances on world’s renowned stages from Teatro Colon Opera House and Centro Cultural Kirchner in Buenos Aires to Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Passionate about education, Leonardo is an Official Academic Representative of “Academia Nacional del Tango in Buenos Aires.” Leonardo and Olga were the Dean’s Artists-In-Residence at NYU and hold guest teaching positions at NYU, Columbia University and The Julliard School’s Night Division among others. They are thrilled to share this curriculum for dancers with the Peridance community and the larger dance community of New York City.
