La propuesta para surge de la retícula del Ayuntamiento de Rafael Moneo y se extiende hacia la plaza pública. Un campo de líneas de acero se despliega sobre el sitio, transformando el vacío en un espacio de encuentro. Más que ocupar la plaza, la intervención teje nuevas conexiones entre el edificio, la ciudad y quienes la atraviesan. El vacío se convierte así en un lugar activo, donde el movimiento de los peatones completa la arquitectura.

Conceived as a self-sufficient retreat immersed in nature, Toronjos is a project shaped by the conditions of its site. Located between two avocado orchards on a plot without access to public utilities, the house embraces a sustainable approach based on local resources and a minimal footprint.
Organized on a single level, the project fosters a continuous relationship with the landscape through generous openings, cross ventilation, and natural light. Built exclusively with adobe and wood, its materiality is local, honest, and exposed. Handmade adobe bricks produced on-site, wooden beams, rainwater harvesting, and solar energy systems define a way of living deeply connected to its environment.
More than an architectural object, Toronjos is a place for contemplation, where architecture quietly dissolves into the landscape and nature becomes the true protagonist.

Concebido como un refugio autosuficiente inmerso en la naturaleza, Toronjos es un proyecto definido por las condiciones de su entorno. Ubicada entre dos plantíos de aguacate en un terreno sin acceso a servicios públicos, la casa responde con una estrategia sustentable basada en recursos locales y una huella mínima.
Desarrollada en una sola planta, la vivienda establece una relación continua con el paisaje a través de grandes aperturas, ventilación cruzada e iluminación natural. Construida únicamente con adobe y madera, su materialidad es local, honesta y aparente. Ladrillos elaborados artesanalmente en el sitio, trabes de madera, captación pluvial y energía solar dan forma a una manera de habitar profundamente conectada con el entorno.
Más que un objeto arquitectónico, Toronjos es un espacio de contemplación donde la arquitectura se integra al paisaje y la naturaleza se convierte en la verdadera protagonista.

El proyecto se compone de una serie de pilares que reinterpretan y prolongan el ritmo del pórtico existente, extendiendo su lógica estructural hacia el espacio público. Más que reproducir la arquitectura del edificio, la propuesta busca activar una nueva relación entre la plaza y el pórtico, reconfigurando la percepción del lugar y proponiendo nuevas formas de atravesarlo y habitarlo.

🏛️ At Concéntrico 2026, PPAA presents an intervention for Plaza del Ayuntamiento that establishes a direct dialogue with the building designed by Rafael Moneo.
The project is composed of a series of columns that reinterpret and extend the rhythm of the existing portico into public space. Rather than reproducing the building’s architecture, the proposal seeks to activate a new relationship between the square and the portico, reconfiguring the perception of the site and proposing new ways of crossing and inhabiting it.

Seguimos revelando el line-up de #Concéntrico2026, que del 18 al 23 de junio activará Logroño a través de nuevas intervenciones en el espacio público.
El nuevo equipo participante es, un estudio con sede en Ciudad de México que trabaja en la intersección entre arquitectura, arte, planificación y diseño urbano.
Su práctica se caracteriza por una aproximación abierta y transversal, donde cada proyecto se entiende como una oportunidad para explorar relaciones entre espacio, materia y contexto. A través de una investigación constante y colaboraciones con artistas, desarrollan propuestas que amplían los límites disciplinares y activan nuevas formas de interacción con el entorno construido.

We continue revealing the line-up, which from June 18–23 will activate Logroño through a new series of public space interventions.
The new participants are Pérez Palacios Arquitectos Asociados, a Mexico City–based practice working across architecture, art, planning, and urban design.
Their work is defined by a transversal and open-ended approach, where each project becomes an opportunity to explore relationships between space, material, and context. Through ongoing research and collaborations with artists, they develop proposals that expand disciplinary boundaries and activate new ways of engaging with the built environment.
Their participation in Concéntrico 2026 is supported by Cortizo.

Defined by a solid volume that appears to float above a continuous green plane, Barrancas explores the relationship between architecture, landscape, and city through a balance of mass and void.
At ground level, an open and permeable plane dissolves into the surrounding vegetation. A reflective material wraps this base volume, enhancing the landscape through reflections while reducing the visual weight of the building and reinforcing the perception of a suspended box.
In contrast, the upper volume is conceived as a solid, contained piece. Its façade, defined by controlled openings and a subtle vertical striated texture, expresses a sober and timeless character. Carefully positioned in response to an existing tree, the volume shifts to create a terrace that extends the domestic space outward.

Definida por una caja sólida que parece flotar sobre un plano vegetal, Barrancas explora la relación entre arquitectura, paisaje y ciudad a partir del equilibrio entre masa y vacío.
En planta baja, un plano abierto se diluye en la vegetación. Un material reflejante envuelve este basamento, amplificando el paisaje mediante reflejos y acentuando la lectura del volumen superior como una pieza suspendida.
En contraste, el volumen superior se concibe como una pieza sólida y contenida. Su fachada, con aperturas controladas y una sutil textura de rayas verticales, define una expresión sobria y atemporal.
Su desplazamiento responde a un árbol existente, generando una terraza que prolonga la vida hacia el exterior.

Located in one of Mexico City’s most active areas, Lamartine redefines hospitality architecture through light, spatial efficiency, and thermal comfort. Designed on a narrow-front lot, the project accommodates 10 rooms organized around a central skylight that brings daylight deep into the building, becoming both its structural and poetic core.
A semi-transparent metal mesh on the façade balances privacy and openness, while also creating a microclimate that improves thermal performance. Complemented by rainwater harvesting and rear garden areas, Lamartine embraces a sustainable and sensitive urban approach.
Discreet yet powerful, the project stands as a refined architectural experience that honors light, respects its context, and elevates contemporary living.

Ubicado en una de las zonas más activas de la Ciudad de México, Lamartine redefine la arquitectura de hospitalidad a través del manejo de la luz, la eficiencia espacial y el confort térmico. Desarrollado en un terreno de frente reducido, el proyecto alberga 10 habitaciones organizadas en torno a un tragaluz central que introduce la luz natural al interior y se convierte en el corazón estructural y poético del edificio.
La fachada incorpora una malla metálica semitransparente que equilibra apertura y privacidad, además de generar un microclima que mejora el desempeño térmico. Con sistemas de captación pluvial y áreas verdes al fondo del predio, Lamartine apuesta por una arquitectura urbana sensible y sostenible.
Un proyecto sobrio y atemporal que se integra con precisión al tejido urbano de Polanco.

Presented at Mextropoli 2025, Suspended Resonance is a temporary pavilion designed in collaboration with Reed Wood and Arboreal. The project explores wood both structurally and sensorially as a contemporary material, combining technique, sustainability, and spatial poetry.
The central gesture of the pavilion is a laminated beam measuring 24 meters in length and 1.20 meters in height, extending seamlessly through space, suspended in the air. Instead of relying on traditional columns, it rests on rotating vertical panels that, with a minimal gesture, can shift from support to transparency.
This transformative capacity turns the pavilion into a living installation -open, permeable, almost ethereal- revealing the expressive nobility of wood and generating an experience around the tension between gravity and suspension, mass and lightness.

Presentado en Mextropoli 2025, Resonancia Suspendida es un pabellón efímero diseñado en colaboración con Reed Wood y Arboreal. El proyecto explora de manera estructural y sensorial la madera como material contemporáneo, conjugando técnica, sostenibilidad y poesía espacial.
El gesto central del pabellón es una viga laminada de 24 metros de longitud por 1.20 metros de altura, que se extiende sin interrupciones sobre el espacio, suspendida en el aire. En lugar de apoyarse en columnas tradicionales, descansa sobre paneles verticales giratorios que, con un gesto mínimo, pasan de soporte a transparencia.
Esta capacidad transformadora convierte al pabellón en una instalación viva -abierta, permeable, casi etérea- que revela la nobleza expresiva de la madera y genera una experiencia en torno a la tensión entre gravedad y suspensión, masa y ligereza.

Located on the Pacific Ocean, Todos Santos Guesthouse is set to open in December 2024 as the first bookable guesthouse by the Danish design brand outside of Europe.
Designed with raw rammed earth walls, the house seamlessly integrates with its surroundings, using local materials to adapt to the region's climate. The walls act as natural thermal regulators, while expansive windows connect the interiors to panoramic ocean views.
The 3,800 sq ft, five-bedroom property is comprised of a main house, two connected guesthouses, a main patio, a rooftop pool and terraces. Its staggered layout respects the site’s topography, offering a balance of privacy, functionality, and the essence of indoor-outdoor living. A tribute to nature and contemporary design in perfect harmony.

Ubicada frente al Océano Pacífico, Todos Santos Guesthouse se prepara para abrir en diciembre de 2024 como el primer alojamiento de la firma de diseño danesa Vipp fuera de Europa.
Diseñada con muros de tierra compactada, en su estado crudo, la casa se integra a la perfección con su entorno, utilizando materiales locales para responder a las condiciones climáticas de la región. Los muros actúan como reguladores térmicos naturales, mientras que los amplios ventanales conectan el interior con las vistas panorámicas del océano.
Con una superficie de 3,800 pies cuadrados, el diseño incluye una casa principal, dos casas de huéspedes conectadas, un patio principal, una terraza con alberca y terrazas habitables. Su disposición escalonada respeta la topografía del terreno, ofreciendo una experiencia que combina privacidad, funcionalidad y la esencia de la vida en interiores y exteriores. Un homenaje a la naturaleza y al diseño contemporáneo en equilibrio perfecto.

The residence adapts to the natural topography of the site by absorbing the slope and having minimal excavation. We chose to elevate the public spaces one level above the ground, introducing a series of platforms that can be experienced in a variety of ways along with nature.
On the other hand, the first floor houses the bedrooms, guaranteeing the privacy and quietness needed in these areas. The concept of this house is reminiscent of climbing a mountain. As you ascend, you discover the breathtaking views.

Ubicada en Valle de Bravo, Copas es un proyecto que nace del entendimiento y respeta por la naturaleza que habita en el lugar. Su intención principal fue crear una planta superior abierta que conecta de manera directa con las copas de los árboles circundantes, elementos que dan la esencia al proyecto y crean las atmósferas y vistas a lo largo de la casa.
La residencia se adapta a la topografla natural del sitio al absorber la pendiente y tener una excavación mínima. Optamos por elevar los espacios públicos un nivel por encima del suelo, introduciendo una serie de plataformas que pueden experimentarse de diversas maneras junto con la naturaleza.
Por otro lado, en la planta baja se encuentran los dormitorios, garantizando la privacidad y tranquilidad necesaria en estas áreas. El concepto de esta casa recuerda a escalar una montaña. A medida que asciendes, descubres las vistas impresionantes.
