Birthdays were bittersweet as a 9 year old boy in Oaxaca. I remember my tia passing me the phone as I lit the candle on top of my gansito just in time to hear my parents singing las mañanitas to me.
This month, I was fortunate enough to celebrate my 31st birthday with the people I love. Never would I have guessed that I would be surrounded by so much love. Thank you mom and dad for your sacrifices and thank you to my loving partner for celebrating me.
