He claimed gold at the Manitoba Provincial Chess Championship in March, and just this past weekend took home fourth place among Grade 8 competitors at the National Chess Championships in Winnipeg. Now he's off to Ottawa along with his brother Zenas, also a student Bison Run, to represent Manitoba at the Canadian Youth Chess Championship.
