Sensei Nicky has officially committed to the University of Massachusetts Lowell for their Psychology program and will also be joining the Honors College! We are incredibly proud of everything he has accomplished both on and off the mat.
Even more exciting, Nicky hopes to help found the very first judo club on campus continuing to grow the sport and share his passion for judo with others.
Nicky has been a great role model for our younger students through his leadership, dedication, and positive attitude. Watching him grow through the years at PJC has been amazing, and we know he has an incredibly bright future ahead.

Instead of relying on his usual “A game,” Alex chose to challenge himself by competing exclusively with the technical standing judo we focus on during our Monday and Wednesday classes. Against visiting Japanese opponents, he embraced pure Tachi Waza with the lapel and sleeve, timing, posture, movement, and clean execution.
No shortcuts. No gaming the rules. Just real judo.
His goal for the day was simple: score all 111 points — Yuko, Waza-ari, and Ippon — through technical execution and confidence in his training.
And he did exactly that 💪
