As we step into 2026, this is just a reminder from us/me that we’re here. It’s year 19 of this tea experiment and Im actually surprised some days because it still feels new.
Pearl Fine Teas was never “trendy or cool.” At least not in terms of social media or having a traditional brick + mortar. Or in terms of fads and slightly adjacent misinformation for likes. But we just kept selling at farmers markets. Not traditional at least when we started in 2007. But it just kept going little by little, remaining rooted in our own authenticity and odd love of this plant and business. We kept learning too because even after 19 years this July, we (I) are still students of tea. This never ends which is part of its greatness.
As these years unfolded, the times seemed to become more and more challenging too — for so many. Last year was a worry with tea tariffs. We’ll see what this year brings.
As we move forward some new things are on the horizon: new blends I’ve been working on and some new tea offerings we’ve not had before. Our Silent Tea will start up again Jan 21 and a tea class is in the works for mid February.
And so we’re here. With tea.
And hopefully some inspired messages (now called content) that mirrors the foundation of why. Along with a visual palate cleanse that potentially offers a few second respite from the clutter rewiring brains here and on other platforms. Since we can’t see you all in person, this is it.:)
Our/my deepest wish is that by Dec 31, we can all look back and say: that was a very good year. And so was the tea.
If you are local, come see us at a market. My staff is lovely. Or find your way to Silent Tea in a few weeks. Or just hang out here if you like.
Thank you to literally everyone who follows along here, in person, via our newsletter, wholesale, at markets — or is a friend, loved one, staff, customer, customer turned friend, vendor, supplier, tea mentor.
We’re here. With tea. Which as you know, cures everything.
Looking forward to spending time with you and navigating 2026 together over really good tea. 🧡

Another 365 days to enjoy really good tea + live a TeaLife. We are starting the year off slow…. Because Winter is meant for slow. So as we burrow into January, we’ll be brewing up pots of tea and planning how to emerge when Spring arrives and many new teas come in! We have some new blends and ideas on the horizon as we enter year 19 of this fantastic tea experiment. Hope you’ll stick around!
Our first wish of the new calendar year to all our supporters, customers and loved ones is this:
Joy.
May you experience unprecedented joy in all areas of your life. And may tea be a part of it. 🧡

Looking very much like the sun itself, chamomile is the herb of Winter Solstice to welcome back the sun. Often overlooked especially this time of year, but it’s mighty.
This is our Calm Infusion. It does some heavy lifting.
From today forward we inch towards light.

We always overdo it. 🤷🏼♀️ Are the giant chunks of candied ginger too much? Probably. But we don’t care because it’s the holidays and because it tastes great. And you can pull a chunk out and eat it. Bonus!
Our Holiday Gingersnap Blend is highly aromatic, immediately igniting the aroma of the season, with flavorful warms notes of spice and candied ginger that warm the toes! There’s a touch of sweetness, but still enough zing to make it taste like true Gingersnap!
Think: fireplace, chunky warm blanket, fuzzy socks, a movie and a full mug. Or a long walk over crunchy leaves; or catching snowflakes on your tongue as you sip your thermos of Holiday Gingersnap.

Our first holiday blend is beloved by all. We amend it slightly each year working to make it better and better. This year we added local dried apples from Black Rock Orchards and Reddy Robin Pear from Sharrah Orchards at
All we can say is: OMG. Next level flavor. As always this blend is inspired by European Christmas Markets!
Highly aromatic with bursts of natural apple flavor from plump local apples, warming cinnamon, a touch of local dried pear, fig, rooibos and clove, and sprinkles of calendula. The apples/pears are plump and so alive and robust – be sure to pick them out of your brewed tea and eat them! Its a treat!
There is a limited amount (like every year), so be sure to secure some for yourself or as gifts for others!

****This is our last one of the year.! ***
Please join us if you have time to lower your cortisol.
Grateful:
We are so fortunate to have the use of the space of Tim Kime Art Studio to host our Silent Tea + Book Club again this month which is located at the Monroe Street Market Arts Walk in Brookland, NE DC. Steps from the Red Line Metro.
Origin:
After stumbling upon this post last year about an accidental silent book club I thought: “What a great idea!” I’ve been plotting since last November to figure out a space to host this, and casually mentioned it to Tim Kime. He immediately offered his eclectic studio space without hesitation!
Why?
It’s a lot right now. And if you need some space to just be, we’re here, with tea. Our Silent Tea and Book Club is open to anyone who wants to come by to be with others and read a book silently without distraction or the pressure to talk. In fact, there is no talking at this event! Its 100% Offline.
Guidelines:
1. It’s 100% silent. Think of it like the Quiet Car on Amtrak or a library. That means no talking, venting, sharing, or chit chat so that others aren’t disturbed. 🤐
2. No cell phones. No iPads. No texting. Nada. If you can’t be without your device for 90min for whatever reason, it’s ok, but this may not be your cup of tea. So please know that all phones are off. No pings either. 📵
3. We love kids, but this is for adults only.🙏🏻
4. We may have some very light background music but we’ll test that out to see if it’s a distraction. 🎼
5. Bring a book and we’ll provide the tea for you to drink as you enjoy the peace of quiet reading, writing or even meditating. 📙 •When: Wed Nov 12th • 6—730p •Where: Tim Kime Art Studio • The Arts Walk • Metro: Red Line Metro to Brookland/CUA and his studio is right on the corner of the Arts Walk. Easy!
We have space for about 10 people and you can reserve your spot on our website. Link in bio. We ask that if you reserve a spot you come — or cancel so it opens the space for someone else. If you just show up, that’s ok too —we’ll find space. 🙏🏻
We’ll be there and we hope you will join us.
It’s totally FREE.

Yes. And the color is lighter for a reason, so please try not matcha-freak-out.
🍵 We whisked up our no-fibbing, truly 100% Organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha while we warmed up some Almond Milk by (no gums/sugar) in a little pot.
🍵 Then we turbo whisked the almond milk with a hand-held immersion blender by with whisk attachment till the foam grew so fluffy and high it exceeded the bowl height. (Fabulous!)
🍵 We then poured the pillowy foam into our 15yr old, very simple nothing fancy matcha bowl over the hand whisked matcha.
🍵 Did a little more whisking and an extra sprinkle of matcha on top.
Viola! A foamy matcha — lighter in color due to the almond milk.
If you made it this far, the point of this post is to say:
We just received 2 mega cases of matcha from Japan. 🚢
🍵 Which means: No matcha shortage here. ⭐️
🍵 Why? Our long standing friendship with the family who is very kind to us and makes sure we’re good. 🙏🏻
Order from our website to ship or pick up at markets.

•SleepyHallowPumpkin Spice
All in glass teacups we hand carried back from South Korea.
Tea. Quiet. Books. Journals. Knitting. Meditation. Crosswords. In the eclectic Art Studio of the wonderful and most generous: Tim Kime. 🧡
Figuring out the next one and if it can happen in November…
