My absolute favourite breakfast at this time of year has to be porridge 🥣💛 So here’s a little throwback from the archives for some cosy breakfast inspiration ✨

I always make my porridge the same simple way on the hob 👩🏽‍🍳⬇️

🌾 Base recipe:
• ½ cup rolled oats
• 1 tbsp mixed seeds
• 1 cup water
• ½ cup soya milk
• A big pinch of salt 🧂

Creamy, comforting and the perfect base for all the toppings 🤍

🍓 Strawberry, stewed peach & granola
🫐 Blueberry & toasted almond
🌰 Fig
🫐 Blackberry & yoghurt
🍐 Pear & blackcurrant

What’s your go-to porridge topping? 😍👇

🏋️‍♂️ Hey fitfam 👋
It’s been a while since I shared a glimpse of my journey, so for anyone new here, I’m Richard Pups, your local Personal Trainer and NLP Coach and former 1:1 Diet consultant.

That photo on the left? That was me back in 2011.

At the time, I was living for the weekends. A proper party boy, drinking most weekends, late nights, and then “recovering” with takeaway, greasy food, and whatever was quickest the next day. Rinse and repeat.

My diet was poor, my energy was non-existent, and I was carrying far more weight than my body could handle. I’d get chest pains, feel constantly uncomfortable in my own skin, and if I’m being completely honest… the only time I felt relaxed or normal was when I was drinking or in a party enviroment.

I know some of you reading this will recognise that feeling.

I wasn’t happy. I wasn’t healthy. And deep down, I knew something had to change.

So I made a decision, not a quick fix, not a fad, but a real commitment to myself.

I went on to lose 6 stone, rebuild my confidence, and completely transform my health. But the biggest shift wasn’t just physical, it was mental. Changing my habits, my relationship with food and alcohol, and the way I spoke to myself changed everything.

That journey gave me a new purpose: helping others realise that change is possible, no matter how stuck you feel right now.

Fast forward 15 years, and I’m proud to have helped countless people lose weight, build strength, improve their health, and feel confident again — without extremes, starvation, or quick-fix nonsense.

💡 No matter where you’re starting from

💡 No matter how many times you’ve “fallen off”

💡 Change is ALWAYS possible when you commit to yourself

Your past doesn’t define you.
Your next decision does.

If you’re ready to improve your health, fitness, confidence, and energy and you want guidance from someone who’s genuinely been there get in touch.

Let’s start your transformation 💪🏾🔥
Amidst the festive feasts and tempting treats, let’s pause to consider the direct link between what we put into our bodies and how we feel. Choosing to indulge mindfully this Christmas can make all the difference – fueling our bodies with goodness rather than overloading on indulgences that may leave us feeling sluggish and less than our best.

Remember, it’s not about deprivation but rather about making choices that honor your well-being. Eating like crap often leads to feeling like crap, while nourishing your body with wholesome choices can leave you energised and ready to embrace the holiday spirit fully.

Here are 4 dishes that are perfect for the festive season. They are healthy, they look fancy and taste delicious. To top it off it is simple to make and requires no cooking, just a little assembling!

DISH 1:
Beetroot and Feta wreath

A lovely vegetarian centrepiece which is very simple to prepare! I used the pre-prepared beets, ready made balsamic glaze, and store bought chutney, I love that you can throw this dish together in a moment.

DISH 2:
Smoked salmon wreath

We love having salmon at Christmas and have always done as I am a pescatarian, so to me, Christmas is salmon
In the wreath there is a dill cream cheese, pops of pomegranate and lovely smoked salmon. I serve the wreath with sliced wholemeal bread or crackers

DISH 3:
Healthy homemade hummus and veg platter:

Beans are a fantastic source of iron. Iron is essential in making hemoglobin a protein in red blood cells. Incorporating raw vegetables into your diet can have numerous health benefits. You will likely have more energy, better skin, improved digestion and a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease.

So, let’s savor the flavors with intention, indulge sensibly, and stay active to keep that festive energy flowing.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas filled with mindful joy, and may the coming year be a journey of health, happiness, and balanced choices.

Here’s to a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 🎄🌟 #MindfulIndulgence #HealthyHolidays #CheersToWellness

🔥💚 Let’s make this your year — and make your 2026 goals a reality.
Shoutout to Victoria, Well done for following my tips for a Flatter, Stronger Stomach ✨and for not being an “ask-hole” (aka someone who asks for advice… then ignores it 😅).
Your consistency shows!👏🏽👏🏽

Here are my Top 5 Science-backed tips + simple enough to start today, not in January 😉

1️⃣ Cut the Bloat Makers
Salt-heavy meals, fizzy drinks, onions, beans & artificial sweeteners = instant bloating.
👉 Up to 30% of bloating is just trapped air + carbonation.

2️⃣ Reduce Belly-Fat Builders
Ultra-processed carbs & sugar spike insulin, encouraging fat storage around your middle. High-sugar diets can increase belly fat by 10% in 6 weeks.

3️⃣ Time Your Meals Wisely ⏰
Late-night eating = poorer digestion + more calorie storage.
Aim to finish eating 2–3 hours before bed.

4️⃣ Build Balanced Plates 🍽️
Lean protein, colourful veg, slow-release carbs (quinoa, bulgur, sweet potato) + omega-3s.
Protein boosts metabolism by 15–30%.

5️⃣ Train Smart 💪
Strength training + core + daily steps = real change.
More muscle = higher metabolism.

🌟 Don’t wait for January.
Start now, beat the “new year, new me” crowd, and get ahead.

✨ Happy Monday & Happy New Month!

It’s the first day of the month, it’s a Monday, and it’s the final month of the year, the perfect triple-reset. Let’s finish the year as healthily and intentionally as possible. And what better way to begin than with a bowl of pure comfort?

As the winter chill creeps in, there’s nothing better than wrapping your hands around a steaming bowl of homemade soup — especially this Sweet Potato, Roasted Veg, Coconut & Chilli goodness.

BIG on flavour and so simple to make. Think:
• Creamy sweet potatoes
• Fiery Scotch bonnet (perfectly balanced)
• Tesco Mediterranean roasting veg
• Fresh spinach
• A Caribbean twist from plantain
• Knorr veg stock for depth
• Garlic, paprika, salt & pepper
• A zesty hit of lime
• Finished with luxurious coconut cream

BONUS:
Add prawns or mince beef if you want extra protein.
Serve with warm pitta or wholemeal seeded bread to soak up every drop.

This isn’t just soup — it’s comfort in a bowl. Make a batch, freeze some, and thank yourself later on those extra chilly days.

For the full recipe, click the link in my bio. Stay warm, stay nourished, and enjoy every spoonful.

Bon appétit ❤️
💪 Monday Reset: From “I Should” to “I Will” 🌟

Hi everyone, starting the week with a thought that’s been working for me lately: how often do we say “I should” instead of “I will”? 🤔

Here’s a little story:

Last month, I met a prospective client. She looked me in the eye and said: “I know I should exercise. I know I should eat better. I know I should feel more energetic.”

But when we broke it down, what she really wanted was to wake up on a Monday morning and feel alive, not just functioning. She didn’t want “shoulds” — she wanted results and momentum. ⚡

So, we made a few shifts:
From “I should go to the gym” to→ “I will show up for 30 minutes and work out with you twice a week.”

From “I should eat cleaner” to→ “I will prep my meals on Sunday evening instead of ordering a takeaway.” 🍲

And you know what happened? After four weeks,
she’s sleeping better, waking up on Mondays without the hangxiety 😅, has more business focus, and, this surprised her, she actually looks forward to the sessions! Because they’ve become part of her story, not just another side task.

My challenge for you this week:

1️⃣ Write down one “I should” that’s been lingering.

2️⃣ Turn it into an “I will” with a clear time and measurable actio.

3️⃣ At the end of the week, ask yourself: “How different do I feel?” Not just “How do I look?” — but how do I feel in my body, my energy, my mindset. Because when you start focusing on how you feel, everything else begins to follow, the consistency, the confidence, the results.

So as you step into this new week, remember: one small “I will” can shift your whole momentum.

Have an amazing week everyone — let’s turn those “shoulds” into “wills” and start strong! 💥
✨ Monday Motivation ✨

Here’s your reminder that you don’t have to wait until January 1st to change your life. You don’t need a “fresh start”, you just need a decision.

Because let’s be honest… after 40, life gets busy.
You’re pulled in every direction, kids, work, family, everyone needing a piece of you. And somewhere along the way, you disappear from your own to-do list.

But it doesn’t have to stay that way.
You don’t need hours in the gym or a perfect meal plan.
You just need to start, even if it’s 10 minutes a day, even if it’s messy, even if you’re tired.

Just like my amazing client here 🙌 — she didn’t wait for January. She decided to start early, stay consistent, and now she will be walking into the new year feeling stronger, more confident, and so glad she didn’t wait 💥

Look at the difference consistency makes.
Not perfection.
Not waiting.
Starting now means walking into the new year feeling stronger, lighter, and more in control. 💪

Your energy, your health, your confidence, they all come back when you start showing up for you.

If you’re ready to begin before the new year rush, send me a DM with “INFO” and let’s get you started today.

Don’t wait for January.
Start now, future you will thank you ❤️
🍁 Monday Mood = Soup Season 🍁

There’s something magical about the latter part of October… the air gets crisper, the days feel shorter, and suddenly we’re all craving comfort in a bowl. 🥣✨ This is the season of change — weather shifts, new routines, fresh energy. And what better way to welcome it than with a warming, vibrant bowl of Creamy Roasted Red Pepper & Tomato Soup paired with rustic artisan toast? 🌶🍅🍞

This isn’t just soup… it’s a hug in a bowl 💛

🥕 Ingredients:
4 large red peppers, halved & deseeded
6 ripe tomatoes, halved
1 red onion, quartered
3 garlic cloves (skin on)
1 tbsp olive oil
500ml vegetable stock
1 tsp smoked paprika
2 tbsp coconut cream (or dairy-free alternative)
Salt & black pepper to taste
Fresh basil leaves 🌿 (for garnish)
Artisan bread, toasted

🔥 Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 200°C (fan).

Place peppers, tomatoes, onion & garlic on a tray, drizzle with olive oil, season, and roast for 25–30 mins until soft & caramelised.

Squeeze roasted garlic out of skins and transfer everything into a blender. Add stock & smoked paprika, then blitz until smooth.

Stir in coconut cream for that silky finish. Taste and season.

Pour into bowls, swirl extra cream on top, and sprinkle with basil leaves.

Serve with warm, crunchy artisan toast — perfect for dipping! 😍 As the season changes, let this soup remind you that change can be nourishing, grounding, and oh-so-delicious. 🍂

👉 Who’s ready to dip in? Tag a friend who’d love a bowl of this autumn hug! 💛
