What makes this project unique is that greenery has been applied on all orientations โ east, south, west, รกnd north. For each faรงade, a carefully tailored plant palette was selected: species that thrive in full sun on the south side, and shade- and moisture-loving plants on the north side. Together, they form a vibrant and biodiverse ecosystem in the heart of the city.
The benefits are significant. Green faรงades help cool their immediate surroundings, reduce urban heat stress, and improve air quality. Beyond that, they create valuable habitats for birds, insects, and butterflies, contributing to a healthier and more pleasant living environment.

We will be responsible for redesigning all departure halls, baggage halls, and the security and customs processes. In doing so, we have drawn inspiration from the principles of the original design team from 1967, consisting of architect Marius Duintjer and designers Kho Liang le and Benno Wissing: โtranquility, simplicity, light, human scale, and silence in the space.โ
We view this project as an opportunity to reduce impact within the existing infrastructure, improve efficiency, and enhance quality and the well-being of travelers and employees.
For the execution, we are collaborating with a new team of in-house architects selected from a large-scale European tender, each of whom will be responsible for a section of the airport. has been appointed as lead architect for the overarching design vision, LVZJA ( and ) as architect for the remaining lots, and Beacon ( and ) as airport consultant supporting the teams with airport-specific expertise.

This robust brick residential building for adds a new piece of city with 96 affordable homes, including 20 specifically designed for seniors. The 45-metre stepped tower creates a new landmark along Oranjeboomstraat, subtly referencing the Wilhelminakerk that stood here until the 1970s.
The project delivers an exceptionally high quality of living. Large windows bring in abundant daylight and offer expansive views across the city. The homes feature generous outdoor spaces, and together with the lush greenery, create a comfortable and future-proof living environment. Shared amenities such as a living room for seniors, a courtyard garden, and a lively hospitality space on the square bring residents and neighbours together - making the building more than just a place to live.
Sustainability is fully integrated, from district heating and shared solar energy to water retention and green roofs and faรงades. Existing qualities, such as the mature trees surrounding the building, have been preserved and enhanced. Hopefully, by this summer, youโll be enjoying a drink under the sycamore trees on the square.

The title "Twisting Thriving Topographies" refers to the rhythmic and organic movement in the murals. The work combines historical and cultural references, such as art deco and Indonesian batik. In our opinion, the title also subtly alludes to the airflows circulating through the building.
The energy-positive Langeveld Building, with a BREEAM Outstanding certification, is naturally ventilated using the power of the sun and wind, based on the doctoral research of Ben Bronsema. This reduces energy consumption by over 85% compared to fully mechanical ventilation. It's the first educational building to utilize this system. (Want to know more about EWF? Together with the team from โ Rop Schouten, Sigmund de Jong, and Tim Mastik, led by โ Hadassah Emmerich's experimental, stencil-based method was translated to a larger scale. A tremendous achievement, especially since the building remained fully occupied during construction.

We believe good architecture can help reduce this by encouraging wellbeing and connection. Think about including plenty of daylight, greenery, playful elements, and including shared spaces that encourage you to regulary encounter fellow students, colleagues, or neighbours.

This former bank office was declared a monument by the Municipality of Rotterdam at the end of 2024 due to its special combination of 1950s reconstruction architecture and postmodernist 1990s high-rise. BNP Paribas Asset Management is now redeveloping C93 in collaboration with Provast into a Paris Proof and BREEAM Excellent office, which is unique for a building with monumental status.

BโMine is a 75-meter-tall, energy-efficient residential tower we designed in 2017, located right next to the AโDAM Tower and the EYE Filmmuseum. For almost a decade now, it has been a recognizable part of the skyline on the northern side of the IJ.
What made it special was the introduction of the โFriends Conceptโ โ a then-new housing model allowing two friends to share one apartment: each with their own bedroom and bathroom, but with shared living space. Perfect for Donald and his nephews! This idea - sharing, using space more intelligently, and living together while maintaining privacy - is still highly relevant today as a solution to the housing crisis.
Many thanks to AM, MN (on behalf of PMT โ Pensioenfonds Metaal en Techniek),,,, and all other partners who collaborated with us on this remarkable project!
