En un momento de evidente fragilidad en la convivencia humana, recuperamos algunas de las obras que integran la carpeta Estampas para la paz, conservada en la Colección Histórico Artística de la Universidad de Granada.
Desde la esperanza de una PAX NOVA, propuesta por Tremedad Gnecco, hasta la reivindicación de la CON-CORDIA de Cayetano Aníbal; pasando por el binomio inseparable PAZ-AMOR planteado por Lucía Maureen Booth o la sencilla y directa petición de POR FAVOR, PAZ de Dolores Montijano; para concluir con LA DULZURA DE LA PAZ de José Manuel Darro, estas estampas construyen un recorrido visual y conceptual en torno a una misma aspiración colectiva.
Cada una de ellas propone una mirada distinta, pero todas coinciden en recordar que la paz no es únicamente la ausencia de conflicto, sino una construcción permanente basada en el respeto y el reconocimiento del otro.
Históricamente, las universidades han sido lugares para el encuentro entre ideas, culturas y formas de entender el mundo. También hoy siguen siendo espacios desde los que pensar críticamente el presente y reivindicar el valor del conocimiento frente a la violencia, la cooperación frente a la confrontación y la comprensión frente al dogma, por ese motivo hoy llamamos a la paz a través del arte y las colecciones universitarias, significándola como una responsabilidad cotidiana que nos interpela a todos.

En esta fotografía de la promoción de Medicina de la Universidad de Granada de 1920 aparece Eudoxia Píriz Diego ), única mujer entre diecinueve estudiantes. Aquel mismo año se convirtió en la primera licenciada de la Facultad de Medicina de la UGR y en la primera mujer médica formada en Andalucía.
Su presencia en las aulas, en las clínicas y en la práctica médica contribuyó a transformar una realidad en la que el acceso de las mujeres a la educación superior seguía siendo excepcional. Cuando Eudoxia obtuvo su título, apenas unas decenas de mujeres cursaban estudios universitarios en Granada.
Hoy, más de un siglo después, esta imagen nos recuerda que el futuro no es algo abstracto, sino que se construye a partir de decisiones, barreras que se superan y caminos que alguien abre para quienes vienen después.
La animación que acompaña esta publicación recupera una fotografía histórica conservada por la Universidad de Granada y nos invita a mirar el pasado desde el presente para comprender mejor cuánto ha cambiado la universidad y cuánto le debe a figuras como Eudoxia Píriz.
Porque imaginar el futuro también implica reconocer a quienes lo hicieron posible, hoy nuestro recuerdo es para las pioneras.
