We have all had those moments-rushing through the day-to-day hustle on the way to our dreams-when we forget where we’re from and the folks who cheered us on.
Whether we are transplants from the Mississippi Delta or places overseas, we all came to New York with a dream that once seemed so far away. I know I did.
As I build Parron Allen, I often remember my mother’s voice-an echo in my soul from when she would call to check in, almost every day.
I miss that so much. I didn’t appreciate it then, but now that she is no longer living, hearing her voice again is a dream more powerful than the one that brought me here.
Let’s continue to follow our dreams with JOY but never forget where we came from.
