今年のカキ氷、やっとスタートしました。
長年仕入れてきた、串木野漁港の製氷所が老朽化などで飲用氷の製造を止めるとの知らせがあったのが4月。その後カキ氷自体の提供を止めるのを含めて検討を重ねてきましたが、何とか取り寄せでやることになりました。
いつくかそれに伴いお知らせがございます。

＊氷の供給の関係で、1日60〜70杯程度に限定させていだきます。
＊カキ氷期間中は、ケーキとピザ類のテイクアウトをお休みさせていただきます。

いつものように粛々と店を開ける準備をしていると、まずお花が届き、12時に開店すると、この日を覚えていてくださる皆さまが、次々にお祝いを持ってきてくださいました。
毎年手作りでお祝いを下さるあの方や、毎回欠かさずライブに見えるあの方や、日曜のフルボリュームタイムの常連のあの方、色とりどりのお花やギフトでとてもとても素敵な記念日になりました。ありがとうございます！
創業50年と聞くと老舗感がすごいですが、只々日々営業していたら、この節目を迎えたという感じです。50年目も、1日1日丁寧に積み重ねて行きます。
今月で創業50年ということで、50周年記念ライブと銘打ちまして、ビッグな3人のトリオ、『itayoN'eri』をやります。
5月12日(火曜日)、19時半より。
3人の名前を合わせたバンド名の「イタヨネリ」ですが、ボーカルの#大野えり さんは2回目の来演となります。
サイドはお馴染み#板橋文夫 と#米木康志 。前回もとても盛り上がったボーカルライブを是非。リーダーだとピアノを弾きまくる板橋さんですが、ボーカルに寄りそう流麗なピアノも必聴です。

Experiencing the famous “Full Volume Time” event at “PARAGON” in Ichikikushikino City, Kagoshima, southern Japan. This involves listening to the venue's JBL Paragon speakers at high volume every Sunday from 10 PM to 12AM(midnight).

The place was nearly full shortly after opening. According to the owner, this night was unusually busy; normally, only two or three groups come.

At exactly 10 PM, thunderous sound roared from the Paragons. A young woman sitting near the speakers grimaced. A young couple also looked a bit shaken. I've visited over a dozen jazz kissas with Paragons installed, and this place's volume is undoubtedly the loudest. My smartphone's health app recorded most of the volume around 90 decibels, with a peak of 101 decibels.

As the owner mentioned, this store’s bass-heavy setup seems perfectly suited for playing jazz from the 50s and 60s. That night, I listened to Oliver Nelson's “The Blues and theAbstractTruth” and Miles Davis's “Kind of Blue,” and wow, it was truly magnificent. Only high-volume playback can truly convey the musicians' intent and passion.

鹿児島・いちき串木野市「パラゴン」の名物イベント「フルヴォリュームタイム」を体験。これは毎週日曜日の22時から24時まで、同店のJBLパラゴンを大音量で聴くというもの。

開店まもなく、ほぼ満席に。マスターによるとこの夜はなぜか特別な入りで、ふだんは２、３組程度とのこと。

22時と同時にパラゴンから轟音が鳴り響き、スピーカー間近に座っていた若い女子がウッと顔をしかめる。若いカップルもちょっと動揺。当方はこれまでにパラゴンを設置している店を10数軒訪問したが、この音量はまちがいなく一番大きい。スマホのアプリはこのときの音量の多くが90デシベル前後、MAXは101デシベルを記録していた。

マスターも語るようにこの店の中低音重視のセッティングにはモダンジャズの再生がいちばん合うようだ。この夜はオリバー・ネルソンの「ブルースの真実」や、マイルスの「カインド・オブ・ブルー」などを聴かせていただいたが、いやあ、本当に素晴らしい体験だった。ミュージシャンの意図や情熱がそのまま伝わってくるのは、やはり大音量再生ならでは。
