Our favorite alpaca farm, has two babies now! The brown one is Delia, six months old and already as big as her mom. The younger one is Holy. She is just six weeks old, with the fluffiest white fur you can imagine.
When the newborn Holy wants to play with her older friend, she charges right at Delia, and suddenly the chase is on. They run circles around us over and over, then suddenly stop when one of them realizes they’ve wandered too far from their mom. Sometimes the farm’s alpaca dog even joins in the game of tag. It’s unbelievably adorable! We still smile every time we remember it.
The weather is warming up, making it the perfect time to head out and explore. And right now, alpacas are at peak fluffiness! the farm tour lets you spend a full hour up close with alpacas, and it’s a wonderful idea for a spring outing.
Oh and do not forget they have a shop inside the farm and some of my items are sold there. Please check them out when visiting😊

The tour begins with the owner, Renee, greeting guests at the ranch gate and giving some brief instructions. Then, each guest grabs a fresh pine branch to prepare for the fun ahead. At first, there were no alpacas in sight. We stood waiting with our pine needles in hand, and moments later, Renee opened the barn door. A herd of alpacas rushed out toward us!!! It was like a dream come true.
The alpacas you can meet there were mostly females and babies. Some eager for snacks and others just wandering around. This was my first time feeding alpacas with such spiky, aromatic leaves, but it quickly became clear that they love pine needles! Watching them munch on the leaves with their bold, crunching sounds was one of the best parts in the ranch. The kids, mine and my friend’s, including a 3-year-old girl, were completely captivated. They loved feeding the calm, gentle females and the curious babies. Oh of course there are some males, they were staying behind and inside the barn.
It was also wonderful chatting with Renee while sitting on a cozy rocking bench and watching the alpacas roam. She was incredibly welcoming and generously shared her knowledge about alpacas. My second son especially enjoyed sitting beside her, soaking in her warmth and stories. The whole experience felt as comfortable and nostalgic as visiting my grandma’s house.
Although the tour lasts an hour, it felt like it ended in a moment. On the way home, we were absolutely filled with joy from head to toe! I highly recommend this ranch to all alpaca fans in the Bay Area, CA.

In Oregon, we visited another alpaca ranch and had an unforgettable experience! I promise, this family-run ranch will have all alpaca fans on cloud nine, surrounded by thousands of colorful alpacas with the stunning backdrop of Oregon’s mountains.
Nancy, the owner, gave us a walking tour of the farm. She was incredibly generous, letting us get a close-up look at some newborn babies. We even got to hold one that was just a few days old! He was soft and warm.
Nancy asked us to write our first names in a notebook, explaining that the newborn alpacas would be named after visitors! We’re definitely planning to visit again in a year to see the alpacas named after us!
Their souvenir shop offers a variety of products made from the alpacas’ sheared fur. They also have an original picture book titled 'BABY ALPACA'S ADVENTURE,' based on a true story that took place at the ranch. The illustrations are lovely.
Oregon is definitely worth the 18-hour round-trip drive for us. Though, if only we could reach the ranch in just a couple of hours...🥹

Today, let us introduce Crescent Moon Ranch in Oregon!
Located right off highway 97, this charming ranch welcomes you with alpacas as soon as you park your car. First, enter the shop in front of the parking lot to purchase food for the alpacas. Then, follow the arrows that guide you along the tour route. You'll scream with joy and excitement once you step into the ranch. There are numerous colorful alpacas, including newborn babies! As soon as they notice you, they start to approach for food. Their manner of being fed is very gentle and sophisticated since many visitors feed them all day. Our kids loved feeding the alpacas, that finished the grains quickly, so we had to run to the shop several times. There are benches for visitors to relax and enjoy the view of alpacas in the tranquil farm atmosphere. Ah, we could spend all day watching crias play, moms feed their babies, and matured ones eat grass if we were allowed.
FYI, this sightseeing ranch reminded us of Nasu Alpaca Farm that used to be in Japan, with lots of visitors having fun and enjoying the surrounding mountain views. There are many signboards on the fences where you can learn a lot about alpacas.
You cannot miss shopping at the shop after admiring the alpacas. You will be surrounded by a wide variety of goods. The original ranch attire, like hoodies and T-shirts, is so cool.
We will come back to the ranch in a year!
