Our main stops were Saturnia, Val d’Orcia, Siena, Florence, Bologna and finally Lake Garda. So basically, we spent the last part of the trip in food heaven.
In total, we drove over 5000 km and honestly: we’d do it all again. Just with a few small route changes next time.
In Valencia, we stopped to surprise and visit a good friend of ours. That was a really nice stop 🫶 We continued to Barcelona and took the car ferry to Civitavecchia.
Next time with Perla, we want to take it slower along the Spanish coast and spend more time at the beaches instead of in the cities. (But we definitely have to go back to Sevilla! ♥️)
Our bigger overnight stops in Portugal were Sagres, Lagos, Albufeira, Carvoeiro and Faro.
Looking back, this was definitely the trip that got us into vanlife. Very simple setup, lots of driving, good places and the feeling of being able to stop wherever it felt right.
Next time we go to Portugal, we’d really like to take the northern route through the Basque Country and take a bit more time along the way.
