๐ Our Love Story ๐
Iโm Patrycja from Poland ๐ต๐ฑ, and my fiancรฉ Shivam is from India. ๐ฎ๐ณ Weโre both international Taekwondo athletes โ and our story began through the sport we both love. In October 2021, Shivam came to Poland to train with my team in Warsaw. He left India alone and he had already lived in Belarus, Ukraine, Serbia, and Austria before coming here to chase his dream. I had just returned from the Tokyo Olympics, and as captain of my team, I still remember the day our coach introduced him: โThis is Shivam from India โ a national team athlete who will train with us.โ
He sat on the bench watching our practice, and later he told me he remembers how I was watching him too ๐. We didnโt talk at first, but he followed me on Instagram โ and when I liked one of his photos, something quietly began. Soon, we connected on Snapchat. Heโd ask me where to buy food, what to eat, how to move around Warsaw โ and Iโd help him. Slowly, friendship grew between us, on and off the training mat.
In June 2022, we both went to an international competition in Luxembourg. I was going alone for the first time, and when I saw his name on the registration list, I felt a sense of comfort. During that trip, we trained together, spent time exploring, and celebrated my birthday โ he even surprised me with cake, candles, and music. ๐๐ซ. Something changed that weekend โ we started to feel something deeper.
Later, during our summer training camp, we became closer, spending evenings talking and sharing moments. Still, I told him I wasnโt ready for a relationship, and he respected that. A few weeks later, he moved to the USA for work, and we were separated by distance for the first time. Even from far away, we stayed connected. He always checked in, encouraged me, and supported me through my competitions โ even when I faced tough moments.
