Mom thought she planned this trip, but don’t be fooled I had the whole itinerary mapped out. First stop: breakfast and coffee. Trust me you don’t want to be around mom before she’s had her coffee. Then I escorted her to the beach for sunrise (prime zoomies hour). We brought along Piper who lacks any appreciation for my sand zooomies. Off to stroll around Tofino we go, pet friendly stops were a must! Back to the hotel to check out the hidden arcade, driftwood bus and all the other amenities there for our enjoyment. I retired to the room early for a well-earned nap while mom ate dinner, soaked in the hot tub, and relaxed in the sauna. I dragged her to the inlet for sunset (prime treat-negotiation hour) and we cuddled up by the fire before calling it a day.

Growing up in Alberta, the mountains have always held such a special place in my heart. Canmore in particular is such a meaningful place as I competed at the Canmore Highland Games every year throughout my childhood and into early adulthood.
