Ever since the vet mentioned Tequila needs to lose a little weight, her little brother has taken his role very seriously as her biggest cheerleader. He doesn’t want his Ate to feel any discomfort as she grows older, so every step, sniff, and pause on our walks comes with gentle encouragement (and a few reminders 😂).
PS: In the Philippines, “Ate” means big sister. Ever since he learned to talk, he’s always called Tequila his Ate. 🩵

Tequila walking behind me, leash in her mouth, quietly following along like she always does. I’m holding her bag with all her things, phone in hand, ready to capture her little moments, and every now and then, I glance behind me to make sure she’s keeping up.
She’s been doing this since she was a pup. No one taught her.. She just picked up her leash and decided she’d walk herself.
Back then, it made everyone smile… but for me, it became something deeper.. a symbol of her independence, her confidence, and the trust we share.
Last Sunday, at the charity walk we joined (@ Walk for petwellness), out of nowhere, captured it.
I didn’t even ask, it just happened. 🥹 And when I saw the photo, I swear I could almost hear “Runaway” by The Corrs playing in my head.
Because that’s exactly what it felt like.. soft, free, a little emotional.
Just two souls walking side by side, moving through the world together, connected in a way that only we understand.
It’s more than just a photo for me. It’s a reminder that love doesn’t always need words. Sometimes, it’s just being there, side by side, feeling the quiet bond that carries you through every step. 💛
