This anniversary looks VERY different to the ones we’ve celebrated before, that’s for sure.
No glamorous holidays, no fancy restaurants. Instead, Ali is up to his eyes in paint, dust and endless jobs around the house, while I’m dragging my heavily pregnant, hormonal self around trying to get everything ready for a baby who could arrive any day now 😬
But as I look at our life today, I couldn’t feel more grateful.
Thank you for everything you do for us. For the life we’ve built together. For working so hard to create a beautiful home and future for our family. For being my safe place through every high and low we’ve faced over the last few years.
You take care of the things I can’t do. I take care of the things you’d never think to do. Same team, different players.
We’ve had some incredible adventures together, travelled to amazing places and created memories I’ll treasure forever. But as exciting as those chapters have been, I know the best one is still ahead of us.

That month was my first natural cycle since treatment. My body had finally settled again and I’d stepped back from all medical interventions, the pots full of vitamins and supplements, and decided to take real time off and allowed myself to breathe, but that turned out to be the month we conceived naturally!
Since that update, these past few months have been spent right in the thick of first trimester sickness and exhaustion, which is why I have been missing here. It has been anything but pretty, but I am finally coming through and stepping into the second trimester with so much relief and gratitude. I do not take a single moment for granted.
What a blessing it is to be here.
Hearing that precious heartbeat and seeing those tiny arms and legs moving made every difficult day feel utterly insignificant. That moment alone made it worth it a hundred times over.
I know this will not feel joyful for everyone. I have been the one who had to look away from posts like this because it hurt too much. If that is you today, please take care of yourself. Your heart matters. I know how a single post can unravel you.
I hope, in some small way, knowing our struggle and what we’ve been through this brings a little hope to anyone still waiting. I know that wait. I remember, I always will, deep in my bones. I’m sending you all the warmth, kindness, and light I can possibly offer.
